you know what's even more ridiculous, that LSU fan's are so desparate to have a "rival" that they acually get bent out of shape about the actions of directional school. There is no rivaly between ULL, Louisiana, etc. and LSU. Stop trying to manufacture one.

Ull trolled the shite out of northeast with the name change to ulm. I was against it then when I attended northeast and still am. To me it will always be the northeast Indians and I will always be against the war hawk name, but I always laugh at how but hurt ulm admin was when the figured about ull trolled them to use the Louisiana name.

Let them be Univ of Louisiana. Who cares. Is Tennessee State a treat to UT?
Give it to them. Or at least let them claim it in sports. Doesn't bother me the slightest bit.

They should've stayed "USL" imo. The old Southwestern and Northeast Louisiana names better served the schools by giving them their own identities location wise, especially to non-Louisianians. And you just knew one school was going to try to push themselves as the University of Louisiana, ala Alabama, Tennessee, California, etc., the very reason Southeastern and Northwest Louisiana didn't want to do it.

Exactly, much like Georgia State, Alabama State, University of Ohio, etc etc. If it helps them better market their school and brings more money into the state, have at it. ULM fans should be the guys starting threads like this, not LSU fans.

I have a question for some of you. I always see LSU fans say that UL Lafayette is trying to be something it isn't, trying to pass itself off as an equal to LSU.
Would some of you have a problem with another university in this state eventually reaching that status of being a peer of LSU? Is that a bad thing? (Doesn't have to be UL Lafayette) Just trying to spark a discussion.
