frick, that's a terrible thing to have to go through in the middle of a playoff series.

Not a Pop fan, but man, that's a tough blow. For anyone.

Fuuuuuck, man.

Forget basketball woes. This is heartbreaking.

Praying for Pop and my Spurs family. Rough year but this is obviously so much bigger than anything else he's dealing with.

I can't even imagine

I selfishly hope I go first. I wouldn't survive long after Aggiebelle being taken from me, man. And I've only known her for barely over a decade, much less being married to her for four.

Like SanAntoneAg said, this type of real world shite makes everything else surrounding him and the team seem patently trivial. I know the community is gonna rally around Pop. He needs it and deserves it.

Terrible news. Not a Pop fan either but it’s heartbreaking for any husband. Anyone know much about her?

Regardless of his employer and whatever opinions he may have I feel for him. Couldn’t imagine the pain of losing someone you shared 4 decades of your life with

to Pop

Someone reminded me Monty is there too. Hope he can be a comfort during this difficult period.

She stayed out of the limelight, but would host dinners for the players and do some coaching of her own to help them deal with Pop's churlishness. I know in particular she was a big moral support for Tony Parker, but everyone loved Mrs. Pop.

She was basically the de facto first lady of San Antonio. Without calling any attention to herself whatsoever. Everyone I know who had the chance to meet her, loved her.

Really?

You think he really cares about the playoff series right now?

They were married 40+ years. Life > work

I feel like this came out of left field. Never any mention of her being sick until now.

Odd that he has so many meltdowns about politics. Seems that if his wife has been ill for a while, all the political stuff would have not been a concern at all. But maybe that was a venting that he needed.
