The issue I see is the NFL over values quarter backs in the draft. Quarterbacks are being drafted way too high who have 2nd and 3rd round values

Thanks to the rookie contracts…

I think the issue is these terrible QBs are still being asked to throw the ball 30-40 times a game. Shitty QBs didn't have to do that back in the day.

You have to throw the ball 30-40 times because the good QBs will put you in a big hole if you think you’re just gonna control the clock and run the ball. They’re that efficient

Back in the day you’d have good QBs in those offenses and the fans would be complaining that their talents were wasted

We have an owner saying “look how far he can throw the football!” problem in the NFL

Part of the issue is that you have guys playing quarterback that are extreme athletes. So when their first read isn’t open, they don’t learn to read progressions, they just use their athleticism to get yards by running. Which works when you are more athletic than everyone else on the field, but eventually that isn’t going to be the case.

Facts. Add: Or the QB starts getting injured.

You must be drunk.

Did you watch the last Super Bowl. Mahomes won the game with his grit and determination. The 49ers were the better team.

Teams are averaging 210 yards per game passing in 2024. The last time the average was that low was 1992. This downward trend started after 2015. The spread game in high school and college, where the best athlete on the field lines up at QB, has contributed to this decline. Kids that are not natural QBs, and who are not expected to learn the position, have trickled upwards. Now, the NFL is populated with "two reads and run" guys.

“I think a lot of it is manmade. Asking your quarterback to stand in the shotgun, catch the ball, and throw the ball every down is virtually impossible in today’s day and age.

uh, we have more dual threat QBs in the NFL than ever. Olsen isnt paying attn to why the offensive numbers are down

High school football especially in Louisiana has largely always been the best athlete on the team plays QB. It has made its way to the college game and now the NFL. They make plays with their legs and can make throws in High School. Once they get to college a large amount fail and the ones who are successful in college make it to the NFL. Most aren’t successful at the NFL level.

With all the rules QB play should be outstanding right now. The rule changes have all been beneficial for offenses and have made the game easier for QBs.

They overvalue qbs, and qbs come to the draft before ready.
Is Daniels the qb he is today if he bolts for the nfl after 3 college years?
Burrow?
The nfl complains about development but continually overvalue underdeveloped players

People are romanticizing past QB play when the league has always been majority terrible quarterbacks and tons of busts.

Absolutely this. People remember the great QBs from an past era and forget the busts. They talk about the Packers not starting Rodgers and Love and forget the literally dozens of QBs that sat to “develop” and never did anything.

A lot of the recent high pick busts were over drafted and or had limited starts and success in college and most importantly were drafted by shitty organizations. How much better does Darnold look this year after interning in SF and now with a good offensive coach? Mayfield failed in Cleveland and looked like shite in Carolina but looked better with the Rams and now playing well Tampa

The college refs allow the HUNL BS to take advantage of the defenses, so that is THEIE WHOLE STRATEGY, in the NFL the refs walk the ball to the line of scrimmage, thus a good QB needs to be able to read defenses, understand game flow and how to us variable snap counts to catch defenses on their heels, they know NONE OF THIS.
