Did we just witness it last night?

Down 0-2, down two of their three best players, nearly 10 point underdogs, Jimmy Buckets throws up 40/11/13 with a 70% eFG% for the win. Scored or assisted on 73 of Heat’s 115 points.

Other notable single game performances:

Bron 2016 Game 6: 41/8/11 on 64% eFG%
Bron 2018 Game 1: 51/8/8 on 64% eFG%
Duncan 2003 Game 1: 32/20/6 on 65% eFG%
Durant 2018 Game 3: 43/13/7 on 78% eFG%
Jordan 1993 Game 4: 55/8/4 on 57% eFG%

ETA:
Magic 1980 Game 6: 42/15/7 on 61%
Baylor 1962 Game 5: 61/22/1 on 48%
Wilt 1970 Game 6: 45/27/3 on 74%
Frazier 1970 Game 7: 36/7/19 on 70%
West 1969 Game 1: 53/3/10 on 51%
Russell 1962 Game 7: 30/40/4 on 44%

Many great performances to choose from and it’s tough to definitively rank them but I’d say Jimmy is inarguably top 10 with a case of being top 5.

Had no idea they were still playing. I thought LeBron canceled the season a while back.

This was spectacular and he made it look effortless.

Honorable mention for LeBron and Kyrie scoring 41 each in 2016 Game 5.

Duncan's 2003 game 6 was better than game 1 in my opinion. He was two blocks shy of a quadruple double.

I hate this kind of hyperbole. If LeBron did this last night it would be just another day at the office. Jimmy B had an incredible night, we don't need to get carried away.

How easily we forget that LeBron averaged 34/12/10 on 57% shooting in 2017 finals and got slandered for losing.

Please point me to the many, many Lebron NBA Finals performances where he put up a 40 point triple double on 70% shooting

Gotta go with rookie Magic playing C in place of an injured Alcindor. And putting up the numbers he did while winning the title.

you listed 2 of them in your OP. He also had 41/13/8 on 63% in 2017, 39/11/9 on 56% in 2017, 41/16/7 in 2016.

In 2015 he went 39/16/11 then the very next game 40/12/8 - ETA: in game 5 he went 40/14/11. He gets slandered for losing this series lol. I bet everyone will frame Jimmy's performance as heroic when the heat lose this one.

I'm only through like 3 finals at this point.

It was one of the best Finals games a player has had. It’s not better than any of Lebrons biggest Finals games against those Warriors squads when you consider it was against....The Warriors.

Still, Jimmy is great. Glad it was him.

Lebron has clearly had many amazing finals performances but I wouldn’t put any single one of them above this game by Jimmy with the possible exception of the two listed in my OP. And certainly in any case would not describe Jimmy’s game as just “another day in the office” for Bron

ETA: if you go by Game Score, this is the 2nd best finals performance since at least 1984

Magic. It’s not even close. He was a rookie without Kareem and his performance clinched the title.

Yeah whatever Jimmy Butler did last night will mean nothing if they get G-sweeped

It was a great performance. The most memorable one for me would be Iverson in 2001. He was a one man show and put up 48/6/5/5. But it went beyond numbers. No body expected them to win a game and Iverson just wouldn't give up. That game made him..

That was very impressive. And I will always remember Shaq saying that Iverson was the best and toughest smaller guy he ever faced.....
