This is the correct answer.

Vince beat the "GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME" pretty much by himself.

Vince Young beat the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers? Because according to pretty much every source I've read, they ae widely considered to be the greatest college football team of all-time.

Obviously ! Staubach was a 1 man show and probably the best run/pass talent ever. I am surprised no one mentioned Flutie. He didn't have any talent around him except for Troy Stratford. He was way better than Wuerfell w/o the NFL receivers. Whoever mentioned Gino Torretta is an absolute idiot. Torretta was awful, but surrounded by NFL talent on both sides of the ball. No arm, no mobility, no intangibles, just plain sucked. With any decent QB Miami would have won another title with that stocked barn.

List of accomplishments is the same.
1 Heisman 1 NC as starting qb, 2 invitations to the Heisman trophy ceremony.

Much better passer, I don't have the #'s in front of me but if you do the whole judge a QB by his teams W/L then Leinart has to be much better considering Tebow no undefeated seasons and a 5 loss season in there also.

Tim Tebow:
111 career TDs and counting in the SEC, with a possible 3rd NC this year. ~7000 yards passing with a 171 rating. He also has ~2300 rushing yards.

You have to give Tebow some credit on the first national title in 2006. He had 13 TDs that year and without him, they don't win, especially against LSU.

Matt Leinart:
70 career TDs in the Pac10. ~7000 yards passing. 156.5 rating. -8 (yes that's right, negative 8) career rushing yards.

Its Frazier in my mind, no doubt. Hell the guy broke 13 tackles on one play vs Florida!

He was not a runner and you do know that in college they count sacks as rushing yards right?

We are talking strictly college...

Torreta was better than Kelly, Walsh, Dorsey, and Erickson. Because his pro career was none people forget how good he was in college. I didnt list Vinny or Kosar because they had better running games with Highsmith and Bratton plus better recievers with Blades and Irvin.

I agree, I'm a man like Mike Gundy (though not as old ad PJ ) so I saw Kelly, Kosar and Vinny play in college and all were better.

them and 86 Miami are probably the 2 best teams I've seen that did not win the MNC.

'95 was on a whole different level. They won every game they played by at least 23 points including 5 opponents who finished in the Top 25, and then crushed Danny Wuerrfel & Florida in the national championship, 62-24. It's not even close; that time was the best ever.

And as I said earlier-- MVP of THREE STRAIGHT national championship games... 'nuff said!
