I actually like the story line. Kentucky couldn't beat UF, but UConn has beaten UF twice. Now, UConn and Kentucky square off for all the marbles. If Kentucky beats UConn, it just goes to show you how important matchups in a single game are.

Pretty sure that point is conceded.

There are alot of rock, paper, scissor matchups in College Bball.

bad thing. the best team in the country has won the tournament so fricking often, but they wont this year and that kinda blows. i love the tournament and it almost never actually gets it wrong, but it will tonight.

Coach Cal and Kevin Ollie both have made great in-game adjustments in the past few games. And, notice that both teams went down by a considerable margin early on in those games. But, they took the hits, realized what they needed to do, and did it. All in the span of a half. It's pretty amazing. That's not rock/paper/scissors. That's vision.

Yes. I would rather watch Florida vs. Wichita St.

along with pretty much everyone.

Well they could cut the teams that make the NBA playoffs in half and still get the desired result. Would make the season way more interesting too. I know this Hawks/Knicks 8 game under .500 race for the 8 seed is compelling and all, but they need to make some changes.

This is for a different thread but the fact that the NINTH team and out of the Playoffs in the West would be tied for THIRD in the East and homecourt in the first round says something needs to be done

This is such a dumb statement that has now been used several times

So the team that beat the overall #1 seed in the regular season AND in the tourney isn't talented or makes them a valid team?

No one said the 2 teams aren't deserving. They said that is caused the regular season to have almost no importance. Which is true

It means what we already knew anyway.....the regular season is 100% meaningless. All that matters is that you play mediocre to get in and then the real season starts and you have to only play well in 6 games.

So again, you would rather watch a team that has now gotten beat twice, including by double digits, by a team that finished 3rd in their conference

So you would rather watch 2 teams that had a season that put them around the 25th or so best teams in the country? Both that couldnt win their own conference?

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the tourney and it's the best thing for college basketball as far as entertainment purposes. But it's a pretty poor way of crowning a champion

Look past the numbers. Who is playing better basketball than those in the tournament right now? Shabazz-Napier and DeAndre Daniels are playing lights out! Randle is a double-double machine (leads NCAA), and Brandon Harris has made two game-winning shots from the same area on the floor! It's incredible. I honestly can't think of a better matchup for the tournament champion than the two teams playing tonight.

Regular season is meaningless? Tell that to the bubble teams that didn't get invited.

Only way to make this tournament better is to reduce it to 32 teams and make it double elimination.

Otherwise, I have no issue with Kentucky or uconn winning the title. One will have won 6 straight games against tough competition.

You're proving everyone's point that the regular season is pretty meaningless

I don't see how that proves the point at all, actually.

I bet Kentucky or UConn would agree that the regular season isn't that important... Obviously you can't lose 20 games and you have to play pretty good, but you don't have to be great by any means

You said "look who's playing the best RIGHT NOW"

You don't have to be a great or even very good team throughout the whole season to play in the champ game. You have to be a decent team and then get hot at the right time

pretty terrible if anybody ever wants to defend the tourney as anything more than duck dynasty-level entertainment

It's still the national championship game. This is the system we have in place. I'm gonna watch and enjoy it.

Memphis swept UL,
UL swept Uconn,
Uconn swept Memphis.

There are alot of RPS in the game.
UL's worst nightmare was facing UK. Horrible matchup.

I'm not saying that the UF or Wisconsin games were RPS matchups, but alot of what happens in the tourney is due to RPS or the human factor of kids having a bad night.
