Leave him in the bullpen.

I'm stealing this from Joe Posnanski so I'll at least include the link:
LINK
Mariano Rivera comes into a one run game about 10 times a year (158 times in 16 years). Expected winning percentage is 85%. With Rivera, the Yankees won 88.6% of those games, which equates to 0.375 wins per year over average in 16 years.

I was agreeing with you. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be.

Esssntially, I second everything Lester is saying.
This started with the Chapman debate, I don't even wanna get into the Votto ridiculousness.
Someone said it earlier, the Reds have two arguably three dominant pitchers in the rotation already, with a very solid arroyo fourth and a full of potential mike Leake in the five hole. Why even bring chapman into the mix when the rotation is one of the best in the NL and Chapman anchored the pen.
It's also the little things that can't be measured that add to Chapmans appeal. Idk where y'all are from, but the crowd goes nuts every time chapman makes the jog from the outfield with Rage blaring at GABP. It adds so much energy. Even more when he hits 100-plus on the radar. Dude broke records as a closer. Leave him

Anyone else who disagrees is wrong. If we were in need of another starter, maybe. I want to keep the intimidator in the pen closing.

Just got a text from ESPN saying Aroldis Chapman doesn't want to start, he wants to close. Now, Dusty should do what's right and make him the closer. He started yesterday and pitched horribly again.

LOLWUT?
1 ER over 4 IP is horrible? He started off the game in a bad way, which hes done several times as a closer. The most telling part of yesterday was how great he looked in innings 2-4.

Also, his ERA this spring is 2.25. Horrible.

He threw a shite ton of pitches, which would have had him out early in a real game. You know that. He doesn't want to start, why make him?

What was his pitch count after four innings? What was it in the first inning? How did Mike Leake do yesterday?
For the record, i've been telling people that ask that I expect Chapman to close. However, to say that he has looked horrible is just entirely incorrect.

Leake got hammered yesterday. Chapman was not that bad. Just missed his spots in 1st inning.

Exactly.
I have nothing against Leake, btw. But, if you are gonna knock Chapman for a bad first few batters, then you need to knock Leake for getting shelled for his entire outing.

He also started as a starter. You put Chapman in the rotation until he proves he's not capable of being a dominant starter. If he fails there, or is just average, you then move him to closer. When you have a prized arm like that, you need to see what you have and can get out of it first.
