I like the pageantry and variety of college football, plus the Redskins make the NFL depressing to me.

Saturday vs. Sunday is also a huge deal.

ETA: The NFL tailgate crowd is also horrible.

1) The regular season means much more

This is not debatable.Your team has to make it in the top 4 to make it to the playoff. In the NFL There are less teams and more teams make it to the playoff.

4) It's much easier to access the games you want to see

Uh, how?

If you don't live in your teams city and don't have the NFL Sunday ticket you won't get to watch many of your teams games.

2) You don't have a penalty every play

Penalties have been a huge problem in the NFL lately slowing down the game

3) The live home game atmosphere is much better

Big time college footballs home atmosphere is bigger. Especially with the bands, opposing teams fans having a section with their band, the better chants I think attribute to a much better atmosphere. That's my opinion.

Bottom line is this, as soon as the first kick off happens in college football, 80-85% of the teams are already eliminated from title contention.

That doesn't happen in the NFL

You can say that for almost half the NFL. The patriots get to sleepwalk through their division every year to get to the playoffs. You have teams with almost a losing record make it to the playoffs.

Not 80-85%, but most NFL teams are not legitimately in contention at any point in the season.

I go to a Falcons game every year. The college atmosphere is better. The regular season is better. NFL post season is a million times better, but the CFP is making ground. National championships pre 1998 are laughable.

That makes it worth watching IMO

Even if you're team loses 7-8 games they still have a chance. If you're team loses 2 games the season is practically over. Unless you think bowl games actually mean something.

You might want to consider a Chiefs game or maybe a Steelers game.

Which pretty much sums up why as a fan the regular season doesn't mean as much in the NFL.

Football as a sport is inherently trashy. Majority of the fans go into debt to pay for their tickets which is why they have to buy knock off jerseys of their favorite from China

The biggest advantage is the TV package. College games are all over my TV grid.

NCAA basically lets you watch the game you want to watch. I can't remember the last time the game I wanted wasn't on one of my channels. And even if it wasn't, there would be numerous other games to choose from.

NFL is 1 sometimes 2 channels, so they choose your game for you. If you live near two cities (say Baltimore/DC), you are screwed, as you will get those teams the their "rivals" almost exclusively every Sunday.

So you'll continue watching LSU after they've lost their 3rd game, essentially putting them out of SEC and Natty title contention?

The regular season essentially means nothing in college football after you've lost 2-3 games. You're season is done.
