To finish the marathon(the season)?
Because you’re rested.

To beat others? Debatable.

Point being, there are organizations who’ve known how to handle the season & there have been those who haven’t and sprinted the whole way through.

It is harder to play an 82 game season and immediately jump into the playoffs than play 80% the season, rest for 4 months and then start the playoffs.

I’m comparing the respective grinds.

I think Giannis is getting caught up in the moment here. He’ll be 100% rested, & as arguably the best player in the NBA he’s more likely to dominate now that he’s rested than if he’s fatigued.

Settle down Nancy, the grind of the regular season is always apart of the playoffs, but best record with no title is meaningless.

No how about you use a little context before you get your panties in a wad?

You do know that the vast majority of Kobe fans are Lakers fans, right?

I think it could be incredibly easy if there is a team that just clicks given the circumstances.

Wouldnt be surprised at all if there is an out of nowhere winner

This. NBA playoff format is usually pretty dang good at weeding out pretenders from contenders. Not a whole lot of cinderellas make it out of the first round or two (especially since they changed from a 5-7-7-7 to a 7-7-7-7 format 17 years ago--last 8 seed to make it to the Finals was the New York Knicks over 20 years ago).

But these extenuating circumstances, lack of any degree of familiarity or home court advantage? It might not happen, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if an overlooked team just gels out of nowhere and makes things interesting.

Laugh all you want, teams who put a lot of energy into getting #1 seed, homecourt etc...flame out often against the teams who pace themselves.

As a Laker fan, you remember Duncan and the Spurs grabbing titles, right? Tim was limiting his minutes by 04

Happened to the '06 Pistons specifically. Burned themselves out winning 64 games to get HCA because they felt not having it cost them the previous year against San Antonio.

Watch out, our resident troll will get his panties in a bunch.

Teams wear themselves out all the time with not enough in the tank come playoff time.

D’Antoni coached teams are another example. He plays short rotations and his teams have never won anything. He’s gassed out Stoudemire, Nash & of course Harden. Not shocking the alter is ignoring evidence.
