Why did he leave TCU? He is putting a whoopin on Bama. This Sark/Patterson pairing looks effective and they arent even fully developed yet

TCU was irrelevant the last 4 years of his tenure

They agreed to part ways about halfway through the season last year. Was surprised to find out that he was not only the coach there for 21 years, but that it’s the only head coaching job Patterson has ever had.

Ornery old arse hole who made no friends with the admin after a while. Got tired and stale.

Maybe focusing on defense game planning and not the grind of running an entire program is what he needs personally. He coached a long time. I dont know how some of them do it.

Mutual decision. We were sucking hard under him and not looking like it was going to get any better.

Let's not take FOX at face value for Gary's role here - he's an analyst, not even on the staff listed on the website.

Did he have a hand in the plan - I'm sure he did, but UT has Co-D coordinators that I'm sure hand a pretty good hand in it as well.

They hadn't been doing well, TCU wanted to go in a different direction. I kinda get it but at the same time I have a feeling they're going to regret it.

Change of scenery probably did him some good though

He got too comfortable and thought he was untouchable. He also is a terrible recruiter

Agree. With the success we did have, we didn't have our first 5-star until the much maligned Zach Evans decided to land here for one year.

TCU should’ve hired Big Willie Leiss
