honestly St Clairs dad deals with loss like a bitch

it was a game

like he said, BILLIONS didnt even know it was played.

If he lived by all the quotes on life he used, he wouldnt be so bitter and heartbroken.

And is son couldnt find the strike zone and was having control issues. He should have gotten pulled or taken the loss like a champ. Hes a big boy. He is one of the best damn pitchers in the country

Rice baseball continues to rack up its impressive list of conference championships, tournament appearances, Regional and Super Regional victories against the largest schools, budgets and reputations in Texas baseball, and it achieved its unprecedented third straight appearance in Omaha, a distinction that it shares (only) with UNC in this decade, to once again go up against teams from State Universities with ten times the student body, media coverage, aspiring ballplayers every fall, and one-tenth the academic expectations.

you should post just this part on the rant

And it is Cole telling the LSU coach to “go sit down” when he comes to argue. How perfectly inappropriate, just as his Dad would have done.

well judging by the responses so far in this thread I doubt the Rantards would appriciate the accompplishment.

I love how lsu fan thinks being bigger is somehow something to be proud off.Lower standards, more $$ to prop up the efforts.Big State schools have a huge advantage.

After RICE loss I just congratulated the Tigers, their fans and took some heat and playfully responding with appropriate trash talk.

I posted this NOT because it was from a RICE dad but because I thought it spoke to anyone that had played sports and made all the effort and sacrifices only to fall short or for a fan that rooted with all their heart only to see your team that you love so much lose.

and not unexpectedly,we see the response.

You say it does, but in my opinion it is too specific, and anecdotal to have any significance for anyone outside of its context, specifically Rice fans like you, and perhaps fathers who had to deal with this before. It might be beautiful because of its sincerity, but the writing was fairly terrible. He shouldn't give up his day job.

you think that journal on philosophical babble after losing a CWS game, which he so subtly blames on officiating and ego's, is something that would be appreciated.

everyone knows how hard loss is, whether in REAL life or sport. Everyone has experienced it in some capacity.

I feel for Cole, and the entire team. Just like I now feel for the Tigers. But I dont need to read a bunch of Machiavelli from St. Clairs overheated poppa to understand that it happens everywhere. I knew right when the game was over what the feeling was the was in Cole's stomach.

His dad just seems like a bitch. Thats all.

Amateur umpires abound, proud ones, particularly in the College World Series. They are of a single mind—and the other one. Either they exploit their moment in the spotlight to demand attention, as was the case in the ridiculous Savery called strike three last year, or they refuse to be anywhere near the determination of an at-bat by refusing to call the best pitches strikes in late innings, suddenly frightened to admit to the zone they had imposed so pridefully thus far. The called third strike Cole got to end the sixth, a fastball on the inside corner at the knees on an 0-2 count, a ball that hit the glove, that was a call he would never see again. I feel as if I am Adam Zornes, holding my mitt in the frame, time after time, emphasizing that the pitch was a match to the target. “This is a strike now, as it had been a strike all game long”, Adam says. A little thing.
