Am I the only one that thinks the Isles will be bounced in the first round? Most goals allowed of any playoff team.

Didn't they play the pens tough in the playoffs?
I'm not counting anybody out once the playoffs start. Isles and tampa look good. detroit looks good. pens and habs look good. Washington has the offense if they get hot. Can't count the rags out they went to the cup last year. east is much tougher than people think. Everybody has been bloviating the kings, anaheim and the hawks for their recent success but once the playoffs start anything can happen. it's a new season.

The West is far better at the top, particularly the Hawks and Blues (Kings are playing their way out of the playoffs, but we know not to count them out as an 8 seed). But the East is just so so deep. Once the playoffs start, the 8th seeded team is just as good as the top seeded team. There's almost no separation, and there's practically no advantage in seeding other than home ice (well, the Bruins are losing the pack a bit).
It'll come down to matchups. Montreal is probably better served to NOT win their division so they can avoid the Bruins. The Bruins will play just like the Habs: tight, defensive hockey with a minimum of chances. The Habs want the contrast. They want a team they can frustrate. Meanwhile, the Wings probably curbstomp the B's. And the Habs maybe even sweep the Bolts.
The Caps desperately want to avoid the Rangers because of their Hot Goalie problem. On the flip side, they will throw a f'n party if they get Fleury and the Pens. Meanwhile, the Pens want the Rangers so badly, as they are the only team in the Metro without tons of scoring, and their top guy is a notorious no show in the playoffs (though I rather like Nash). It should be a fun playoffs.
