The Kings are officially in deep doggy poop. Just lost to the Oilers... THE OILERS! Peg and the Flames both won, so the Kings are now 2 points down to the Flames with 2 to play. Now, the Kings play the Flames next, but even if they win that game, they would still need to earn more points than the Flames on the final day. If the Flames win either of their next two, they are in, regardless of the Kings.

Big time, who would have thought with Winnipeg traveling to St Louis and the Kings playing the Oilers that the 2 points gained in the standing would be for the Jets. LA looking like they may be on the outside looking in, which frankly I'm good with, I have no desire to see yet another season of catch lightning in a bottle Kings playoff hockey

Possibly final home game of Crosby/Malkin era up next for #pens...

That is the single dumbest idea any team has ever had. The Pens have a whole host of issues, having two Hall of Fame centers on the roster is not one of them.

To hell with them, I can't think of a better bunch of assholes to be out of the playoffs with us. Love, Sharks fans.

I never said Price wasn't talented, I just said he is not the best goalie in the NHL this year.

Habs will lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs because he cannot beat good teams. It's that simple.

You'll see a lot of these types of goals in the playoffs

Honestly, Halak and Bishop are better goalies than Price. Maybe not with highlight saves, maybe not with overall statistics, but definately with statistics against good teams.

I would add Rinne to that list

In terms of winning percentages against the top 1/3 of the league for teams that would be in the playoffs today, Rinne doesn't really stand out. Here's the list:

Bishop (0.666)
Andersson (0.666)
Crawford (0.625)
Halak (0.641)
Dubnyk (0.625)

Rinne (0.524)

Talbot (0.5)
Miller (0.5)
Holtby (0.473)
Hank (0.4667)
Elliott (0.4375)

THEN

Carey Price (0.429)

The only guys behind Price that are currently in the playoffs are

Howard (0.412)
Marc-Andre Fluery (0.364)
Tuuka Rask (0.350)
Pavlec (0.368)
Jonas Hiller (0.353)

You can always substitute the Hamburglar with an insane 0.857 winning percentage for Rask or Fluery, but he hasn't faced the same sample size as the others.......

At my final jackets game for the year

Probably been to 20 and they've sucked dick for the majority, but the end to the year has been promising

Now, Niskanen gets in on it with help from a Bs tip. Don't melt down like the Pens yesterday.

The Jackets deserve to win the lottery for what they have done, refusing to tank. I'm on board, even if it will hurt the Caps.

Mike Reilly announces he's leaving Minnesota. If the Jackets can sign him, it will be like getting two top 15 picks in this draft. That would be huuuuuuge.

Bs have been buzzing at the end of the second here, but Holtby has been great (and lucky). Then, the Caps stick the dagger in on their only chance the other way.

Doc: "There are Capitals fans in Pittsburgh, Ottawa, Detroit, and Long Island."

Caps have been wildly outplayed in the 2nd, and some of that is score effects, but geez... what a gorgeous goal by Mojo from Kuz. I mean, holy crap.

Caps are clicking on all cylinders right now and Holtby is becoming Playoff Holtbeast... this is scaring the bejeezus out of me.

ETA: Not a penalty, apparently.

Oh, you two. You're so adorable when you're angry. He got elbowed in the throat in front of the ref, and y'all are ticked there is no call on him. That is truly spectacular Ovi Hate. That's next level stuff right there. Well done. I think you should apply for an NEA grant.

BTW - Boston did not score a goal on Holtby all season. He played against them three times. Now, fun time assist from Kuzy...
