In critical written correspondence that we uncovered on March 20th of this year, we see evidence of their proposed plan of action in February 2001 that included reporting allegations about Sandusky to the authorities. After Mr. Curley consulted with Mr. Paterno, however, they changed the plan and decided not to make a report to the authorities.
frick Paterno. Seriously frick him and his piece of shite legacy. This "blood" so to speak is absolutely on him. Unforgivable.

Nothing new in the report, but it does validate what we knew. When Lewis goddamn Freeh lays blame in Paterno, Spanier, Schulz and Curley, they can't spin their way out of it.
So what's next? I assume lawsuits, or maybe a class-action lawsuit by the victims filed against the university. What else?

"NO DONT FIRE PATERNO! ITS JOE PATERNO!"
Who didnt see this coming? Honestly? I think the only ones that are affected by this are most Penn St. people, because they were clearly in pure denial, and their attitude towards this situation overall just showed how this was possible in the first place.

Bankrupt doesn't necessarily mean "completely broke" as much as "not enough liquid assets."
Expensive lawsuits, bad PR, and pissed off donors due to the way they hit up everyone for non refundable donations shortly before the story hit adds up to serious cash flow issues in Penn State's future.

Oh yeah, everything he ever did was nullified by this sad situation.

PSU is lucky this report wasn't released when class was in session. Those frickers would burn State College to the ground.

Adolph Hitler built an awesome freeway system in Germany. Joesph Stalin won WWII. In all three cases, their bad most definitely nullified all the good stuff they did.

why does the report start with good morning.
It's not the report. It's a press release for the report.

frick Joe Pa for trying to protect his legacy by covering this up.

No completely serious. Probably when this first came out it was a black mark, but now its the only thing that matters in his career publicly speaking.

This was a complete Penn State University cover-up.
Punish the Penn State University as a whole.
Give Penn State University the Death Penalty as a whole.
Don’t start the Death Penalty until after the last current recruit who signed a letter of intent is finished.
Any new recruit who signs after set date, willingly and knowingly signs to Penn State University accepting the conditions set in place.
Don’t argue that other Penn State Sports Programs shouldn’t pay for these Penn State University mistakes, when these programs accept revenues acquired by the Football Program. They shouldn’t be able to claim the benefits gained as being part of Penn State University, without accepting the punishments handed to Penn State University.
These crimes, and the cover-up by Penn State University, are far worse than anything committed by anyone who has received the Death Penalty.
Just my opinion… Again

I don't think the NCAA has authority to do that. What rules did they break? Not saying I disagree with you at all.
Lack of institutional control?

If the school gets put on probation, I will feel bad for the players that had nothing to do with it. But grant their release and let them move on.

That would have to come from the Board of Trustees or state Governor. I really don't think they broke enough NCAA rule to come close to the DP.
ETA:
DP = death penalty, although double penetration might be more appropriate.
Lack of Institutional Control is a possibility I guess. I hate the "don't punish the players" bullshite. If your boss embezzles money and the bank forecloses the business, you're gonna lose your job. Same here. Collateral damage sucks but that's just the way it is.

There are many many things in life more important than being successful at football.

This is what happens when you build false idols.
I'm fairly certain that this is not the first time Ole Joe had a hand in making things go away. I doubt any other cover-up was as horrible, but knowing that he was willing to cover-up for a child rapist, I'm not sure I'd put anything past him.... or the university.
