He said if they're reviewing a play and their video has discrepancies with the broadcast video then to use the broadcast video to prevent conspiracy theories. He they got it wrong and that they didn't follow the protocol.

The big ten *banned* the stadium clock from being the official clock after the infamous 2001 msu vs UM ending.

It doesn't say anything about the official time going to the review team in Chicago.

To prevent the controversy caused by this game and others, the Big Ten changed its timekeeping policy for the 2002 season, having previously studied changing the policy prior to the Michigan–Michigan State game.[14] Previously, the home team appointed an individual of their choosing to keep the official time in the press box.[17] Now, time is kept on the field by a neutral official appointed by the Big Ten.

Michigan lost the game. No doubt about it

Yea. I just can’t let this go because it feels next-level sketchy.
The fact they were even scrutinizing the clock to that degree and processed the ruling so quickly is also really weird.
And again, 1:100 shot that Hail Mary pays off, but that actually paying off really put a frame around dubious practices by conference they were implementing on the lowdown.
Something is very rotten in Denmark

Ask yourself this...truthfully think about it...if the roles were reversed, do you truthfully believe the referees would have found an extra 1 second for W. Michigan?

Damn. Mike P took a stand.

This actually is the first time I’ve seen big time refs publicly come and say it was rigged

Oh ok
1) not a B1G game.
2) so, you think the conference should be allowed to make rules that supersede the rules given to officials nationally?
Everyone outside of Michigan fans knows this was a hose job.

Yeah, this one's different from other incidents because it's so blatant. The Big 10 intervened to give Michigan a mulligan.
Without integrity you don't have sport. Inquiries should be made.

So you think WMU is in on the hose job?

Do you really how much money WVU makes to go to these P5 schools just to take it up the keister? It’s literally in the contract. So yeah, I’d fully expect these smalls schools to bend over and smile in a situation like this.

WMU and the MAC accepted the explanation
It’s over. Unless WMU changes their mind and sues, the story is over.

Only because of the reason given in the post above yours.
Once again, screw the integrity of the game, and, in the case, the WMU players, in the name of $$$.

Ok, but if WMU is letting the integrity of the game slide due to a bribe, doesn’t that make them as complicit as the big ten and Michigan in the robbery?
Posted on 9/7/26 at 11:44 am to HailHailtoMichigan!
You have to separate the university from the players involved. They are the ones paying the price.
WMU can be all, “It’s ok, just give us the check.” That doesn’t indicate acceptance by the people who actually played the game.

Curious how the pollsters react.. I wouldn't have Michigan in my top 25 after that game.

WMU is not complicit at all. They're the victim in all of this.
WMU and MAC leadership needs to grow a set and fight for their players. As the victims, it would really force inquiries to be made if they pushed it.

If I am understanding the explanation correctly, the Big 10 is saying that once the player who jumped from out of bounds touches the ball, the play is immediately dead and the clock stops.
Purely hypothetical, but does ANYONE here believe that if the player had batted the ball back into the field of play and a Michigan receiver caught it, the officials and replay booth would have come to the same conclusion? They would have called it a Michigan TD and ran off the field.
They literally made that shite up as they went along.

They haven't said they're letting it slide, dumb arse. They only acknowledged what the Big 10 did in the review process.
