I had to record it and just finished watching, I loved the result but holy crap outside of the start was the only actual overtake when Mick passed Mazapin in the hairpin on lap 1?

How do you mean? Red Bull for the longest time were a tier 2 team.

Yeah, that super long era of 2005-08.

I hate using it as an excuse, but it is Monaco. Some teams get cheap points, some teams look worse than they are.

Nothing in terms of the season can be learned, nothing holds over. But then again...

Some people will get this, others won't.

At any rate, it's worth the same points as every other (mostly far drastically different) race on the calendar.

And it should be. Merc builds a car that is built for everywhere but Monaco. They should be punished when it doesn't get around then track as fast.

Even though it is a parade I hope Monaco doesn't change.

Would it be advisable from an attending in person standpoint to just show up for the practice or qualifying days at Monaco? Seems like they’re the same exact same thing as the race an presumably less expensive and crowded?

The raced as “Red Bulll Sauber” in the 90s. Middle of the pack and often lower tier team.

Vettel passed Gasly at one point. But that was it.

That's about when I started watching for real and when I got into F1. Watched some before that with BMWs and Toyotas racing still and then the Brawn season was cool.

Was that an overtake? I thought Seb came out of the pits beside (slightly in front of) Gasly and just held him off.

Sauber is not Red Bull.

Red Bull was merely a title sponsor back then.

Oh make no mistake, 100% not complaining. I love Monaco for the spectacle and hope it doesn't go anywhere, would love to go one day. Prior to this I'd only seen 2019 Monaco and knew passing was pretty much impossible, but was a bit shocked to see really no one even came close to making an attempt.

Anyway, glad to see Max & Redbull leading the championships, lets see if they can hold onto it.

Mercedes still has not been able to get the wheel off, and won't be able to until they get the car back to the factory.

Surely they can find a dad somewhere who can get that bish off.

Monaco has always been difficult for passing but the current cars are so much bigger than they were in the past it is impossible now. It's actually a shitty race. Just has a lot of history and hype.

Toto has said that the reason for the failure is that Bottas didn't hit his mark and the mechanic had a wierd angle for the gun. Rounded it off.
