I don’t see many passing opportunities on this track.
They say that every weekend. And then people start sticking their noses in and putting their elbows out.
These dudes are the best, at least we know Max is going to try.

You think? Could see Vettel doing that.

He did earlier in the year.

A mishap on lap 1 could take out half the field. There's nowhere to escape on most of this track.
There's no way we get through the race tomorrow without a major incident, possibly a decisive one.

I love the fact that they have to drive on the track this weekend. It should be exciting.

This is like Talladega in a playoff race. It's gonna be Lando Norris winning tomorrow.

#2 most dramatic qualifying for me this season after Russell getting P2 at Spa.
Max was killing that lap. Just bit off a little too much at the end. Hopeful that his gearbox is good to go, but I think he can make up the positions if need be.
There's like a 2% chance we don't have a red flag tomorrow.

What was the discussion from Brundle at start of Q3 about RB appealing Merc not slowing for Yellow when they were penalized last race?
Posted on 12/4/21 at 12:46 pm to Lsut81
Yeah, normally the appeal window ends at the beginning of the next session.
Since the ruling was so close FIA extended the window to file an appeal. Wouldn't be surprising for RBR to file an appeal, adds distraction plus hail mary considering what is happening with Max.
As the stewards see it, the difference was the "rogue steward" actually showing yellows in Qatar and no yellows being being shown in Saudi. If there had been a yellow showing to the drivers I think Hamilton would have a penalty.

This track is damn fast in qualifying. Love all the halo camera shots.

Like it or not, Max needs to go balls out into the first turn… if he can’t overtake there, Hamilton is gone and no catching him

Assuming he doesn't have to break parc ferme and can line up behind Hamilton.
He gets a great tow and forces the Mercs to defend hard. He really has nothing to lose if he takes out Hamilton.

Exactly, dive in with a late brake and let the cads fall where they may.

Red Bull appealing the Hamilton decision
Edited: other reports saying RBR aren't appealing the decision.

There will be a few safety cars tomorrow. Not ready to just say Hamilton wins this if max doesn’t get to 2nd after turn 1.

Max's super lap before the mistake

Dude was driving out of his mind. That lockup was probably in part to those tires being melted.
