Nurburging (GP Track of course), Portimao, and Imola added to schedule! This is shaping up to be a damn good F1 calendar.

I don't know what the fascination is with Imola, apart from being a scenic, pretty landscape.

The track sucks. It's narrow, it has no fast corners, and it's been neutered over the years.

See the final two GPs held there - Alonso holding off Schumacher in 2005 despite Ferrari being the car to beat that weekend and Alonso running on nine cylinders, or Schumacher holding off Alonso in 2006 despite the tables being flipped.

Virtually no overtaking in the 2006 race at all.

The ONLY good Imola race I can ever recall is 1998.

All of that is probably true but I found it a fun and challenging track. The Piratella corner is understeery as hell - very tough to master. The drop down into and back out of the Acque Minerale is a blast. The last chicane is a bitch too. If you get it right it's great but if you get it wrong, you lose tons of time there.

To me it's way more interesting than Monza.

Imola might also hold some place due to Senna

Monza, Imola, Mugello...odds of Binotto seeing all three?

So I’m guessing that means the America’s are out? Goes right through when Austin GP is.... although Merc posted more announcements coming

Sergio Perez is out for this weekend due to a positive Covid test, I haven't seen what their protocol is, does that mean he's also out for the second Silverstone race next weekend?

I’d imagine he will need back to back negative tests to compete next week.

He’s asymptomatic from what is being reported. Will be interested to see if it spreads amongst team. Prob good that they had last weekend off.

Who will be his replacement???

As reported earlier, Mercedes’ future engine customer McLaren will be able to call on Stoffel Vandoorne or Esteban Gutierrez if a substitute is needed for Carlos Sainz Jnr or Lando Norris this year.
RaceFans understands Racing Point, a long-term Mercedes engine customer, also has the same arrangement in place.

Found this, but dont know if its true or not.

Really wish they could get George Russell for one race, but Russell will never have a good car.

"Mercedes-AMG is likely to supply Racing Point with a reserve driver in the form of Esteban Gutierrez or Stoffel Vandoorne at this weekend's British Grand Prix. Perez's countryman Gutierrez is expected to be the more likely stand-in as Vandoorne is currently preparing for Formula E's six-race marathon in Berlin. A Fox Sports F1 pundit has tweeted that Gutierrez is reportedly already en route to Silverstone Circuit, where the Grand Prix will be held."

Hulk in the RP is a perfect recipe for him to get a podium.

KMag may get his balls sucked afterall

Esteban has an issue with his Superlicense. Needs a 300km test to reactivate.

Has Hulkenberg been active? Has he been racing in any form?

This is why LANDO is the coolest dude in F1. He is wearing this helmet designed with art work of a 6 year old girl. He will wear this helmet at Silverstone.

He missed three races

No idea if has been doing simulator work or racing in another series.

Racing Point is directly across the street from Silverstone, so he will probably be doing simulator work tonight. Someone tracked a private jet from Monaco to Silverstone earlier today.

F1 Weekend Warm Up just dropped Sergio Perez and Red Bull. They brought in someone to help Albon....Hmmmmmmmmm, Alex is on the hot seat.

Gutierrez sounds to be the man driving for Checo for the weekend.
