Babe Ruth. A drinker during Prohibition, a womanizer, and a locker room cancer.

Finally someone mentions the King. Holy Shite...the tabloid fodder with Babe Ruth. I can't even imagine...the fallout with his shenanigans.

But baseball writers protected players back then...nobody talked about personal life, it was considered uncouth.

But Ruth was a Yankee...and like Jeter, maybe he would get a pass about his personal life.

Ruth apparently loved Prostitutes...Jeter got basically the same without having to pay for it. Ruth apparently passed syphilis...Jeter apparently passed herpes.

Ruth brushed with death a few times. A woman chased him through a crowded train, brandishing a knife, because he had cheated on her. A man with a gun chased a naked Ruth out of a hotel in Detroit, after Ruth slept with his wife. And in 1925, he missed part of the season with "The Bellyache Heard 'Round The World," which was almost certainly a combination of poor diet and a TON of syphilis.

So if Jeter could get away with it with the NY media, I'm sure the best baseball player of all-time would have gotten away with it.

What was wrong with Jeters personal life? Only losers would have an issue with him banging the hottest women around

Steinbrenner called him out once, mainly because he thought it was affecting Jeter's on-field performance. Can't blame him with how much he was paying.

Not as a player. He'd be a megastar today with his talent and charisma

Ehh, he would have been a modern day Russell Wilson.

Or his victims... Apparently he gives them a gift basket at the end.

But...

No one knows if he tells women before he slays them that he will be the gift that keeps on giving.

Arnold Palmer. His philandering and womanizing on the tour was well-known but protected by the media.

As did the New York media, wearing out the word 'classy' when writing about DiMaggio.
