It’s that time of year Baws. Tonight, and for the next 18 straight days, there is at least one football game on tv.

It's why I find the "there are too many bowls THEY MEAN NOTHING" crowd insufferable. Maybe some of us just like watching football and having games every day kicks arse. No one is making them watch.

You just watch it for fun or if you have some money on it. The idea of finding “meanings” in a game is comical. Does the sugar bowl game 12 years ago mean anything today? Nope. People just move on to the next thing.

Agree. Plus, what is so bad about small schools having a goal of making a bowl game? Should small schools just die, or is it ok if they play football... I’m right there with you bro.

Some guy in an earlier thread basically said if the game isn't for the national championship, it's meaningless. I guess he thinks smaller schools are just wasting their time and never have anything to play for, ever.

And I'll always use this as an example; I remember how amazing it felt when Dinardo got LSU to the Independence Bowl. Watching that game was my super bowl, was unheard of that the Tigers were actually playing in a bowl game again, so I know it matters a lot to these other schools that just don't get those opportunities all the time. Why take that away from them?

They're always welcome a Christmas Story every day or multiple Christmas "specials" on any number of networks.

Don't know why it's so difficult for these folks to realize that these bowls
are programming for ESPN and there's a market for it.The players, coaches and schools all seem to enjoy the reward of playing in the games and there's obviously a audience for it.

I like December. Advent, family, cold weather, bowl games, NFL games matter more, Christmas Day thru New Years. No school.

I don’t like short days that go dark at 5:30 though.
