The treatment isnt equal, thats the point.

Lebron does it and it gets a 5 page thread, jokic does it and noone brings it up.

Bc when one person ( LeBron ) wants to be considered the best and calls himself "King James" before he plays a game in the NBA, he will get criticized more. Jokic does not care about being called the greatest. LeBron does. Everything he does is about himself.

an Ohio sportswriter gave him that nickname, then Nike officially coined it.

He did nothing to correct that or say he does not want that moniker. You keep making excuses for him. They are weak excuses.

So his options were:

A: Accept an objectively awesome nickname and use it to become the richest athlete of all time.

B: Reject the nickname so Brian in Abita Springs doesn't get annoyed about it 25 years later.

Shockingly, he chose option A.

I'm not annoyed by it. I find it funny how many defend him when he has shown himself plenty of times over the years that he is not the greatest.

If you cant see Lebron's greatness that's because you are lying to yourself.

It is not there. Jordan made the NBA a global name. He carried the NBA into new heights. He won championships. He made a shoe company a global company. Converse was the big shoe provider before Jordan signed with Nike.

What is LeBron claim? To flop? To go and build "super teams" with other free agents? To lose more championships than Jordan?

I hate Lebron and i hate even more that you people make me defend him.

21x all star, has never gotten in serious trouble despite being in the limelight since he was 15, revolutionized the player/agent game, 20x all nba, 4x NBA champion. Contracts and TV rights have exploded.

On top of that he has:
- the most points ever
- the 4th most assists ever
- the 25th most rebounds ever
- the 6th most steals ever

Sure you can hate Lebron because of the super team thing. He plays in a more competitive and talented NBA than ever. The talent pool in general is SO much deeper now. His career coincided with some of the greatest players of all time. Steph, Shaq, KD, Kobe, Duncan, Jokic, KG, Dirk, Giannis, Nash, Harden, Paul, Kidd, Kawhi, etc. The game has grown tremendously post Jordan, largely attributable to Lebron. The international market is infinitely better than it was in the 90s.

People do the "he's just been playing for a long time" thing but he's 40 years old and averaging 25/8/8 on 51/38/77 splits. He'd likely have a couple more MVPs if not for voter fatigue and the advanced metrics game leading to a more 3 pt/FT style of play.

You can hate everything about him and everything he stands for, but if you don't view him as a top 3 player of all time, you are simply uneducated about the game of basketball.

Also, Lebron went to Miami and made it about himself to form a super team. Jordan never won a title without a hall of famer. Sure the Bulls drafted Pippen, but it's the same shite.

Holy crap lol. I would hope someone playing for 20+ years in a sporting league is near the top in some categories. That's fine for individual awards if that is his goal. Jordan wanted championships.

Where did I say he was not a top player of all time? I'm simply stating when it comes to Jordan vs LeBron as the greatest, I am going with Jordan.

It went beyond that. He had "King James" embroidered into the leather seats of his Hummer as a teenager. WHEN HE WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL. Before he had done anything whatsoever in the NBA.

Lebron- great basketball player.

Lebron also - sorry egotistical crybaby that has completely ruined an entire league. Probably the most "look at me person" in sports ever. And that is saying alot with the egos in sports.

I cant wait for him to retire so I can get back into the NBA.
