Really??? Do you think he has the same skills as he did 15 years ago???? If so... You are as dumb as a tomato can.............
Where did I say he has the same skills he had 15 years ago? Unless you think being a stroke behind Day and even with Johnson doesn't constitute "hanging" with them. His game is going to be different than in his prime, that happens to all players. To act like he can't hang when he has played pretty poorly and is even on the round is just silly. May not want to call someone stupid when you've made an asinine argument yourself.

Why have you always hated on Tiger?
What?? He had the greatest 5-8 years run of ANY golfer in history...
BUT.. Thanksgiving night 2009 I KNEW it was over.... He has NOT ben the same player since.. I don't care that he was player of the year in 2013.. He didn't win A major... He set HIS level SO HIGH that he will never match it... To be honest... Once he was caught messing around on his wife and WITH what the ICON he had become up until that time, I am sure his world came crashing down on him... Say what you want... Golf is STILL 90% mental and 10% physical................

Past few have been ugly ugly ugly. It has been a completely different swing than he had at Hero. No clue what the deal is.

Tiger would not win the 2017 Maryland Open if he worked on his game and didn't play another tournament with his only focus the Maryland Open. Former Tiger fan. It is over.

Tiger fans everywhere thank you for your help.
I think I can get great odds on Tiger winning a major this year.

It was over WAY before then.

Whoever downvoted me I understand and we will never know. Denny McCarthy would beat him by 10. Denny is good but struggling to make the tour.

Then you were wrong. He got back to #1 in the world by a pretty comfortable margin

Won 5 tournaments, including the Players, in 2013

I think he was 30-1 going into this tournament.

Good sign from yesterday was the short game for the most part was on point. Bad sign, even though not having a single right miss at the pro-am, it was all he could do yesterday. Fixable issue, but i'm quickly losing hope he'll be able to.

Will he ever get back to winning 30+% of his starts, probably not. But can he have a similar winning percentage as Rory, Fowler, Day, and Spieth for the next 5 years? Absolutely, if he can stay healthy.

I have a very difficult time seeing that looking at his swing right now. I think it's too early to count him out or ever winning again, but he needs to fix his alignment and work on his tempo to give himself a chance.

It looked like he was bailing out of every shot. Like he was afraid to, or couldn't, stay down through impact. Hopefully it isn't injury-related.
If he can get the driver somewhat under control, I could see him winning a couple times a year for the next few years.

He is "hanging" with the #1 player in the world and Dustin Johnson just fine.
You made this post around hole 11 and an amateur could hang with DJ and Day for 11 holes too. Remember golf is 72 holes, not 11.
Other points(since I'm not gonna make a bunch of posts)
Tiger is closer to Troy Merritt-types than to the top 20 guys.
This course Tiger knows better than most and has had great success on, so the thinking is he would probably be somewhat competitive there.
Somebody mentioned the Hero Challenge where he finished 15 out of 17 guys, where most of those dudes were vacationing and not thinking about golf.
The golf coverage absolutely is back to sucking arse since they show Tiger all the time even walking down fairways. They didn't show a shot from Rose until his eagle to get him back to -4. And all the talk outside of golf analysis was Tiger issues, health or swing wise, F that shite, let's see other players more often instead of Tiger picking his arse. Dude finished 133rd and we hardly saw any of the leaders play. Pitiful.

Great, and the poster I responded to made the point he couldn't hang with the people he was playing with at the exact same time. Based on what had happened to that point, there is no way you could make that claim. One part of Day's game was garbage yesterday and one part of Tiger's game was garbage yesterday. My point was that saying he can't "hang" anymore was completely baseless. We simply don't know.

Sure, but his tee game has been garbage.

Was tiger not vacationing? How do you determine who was vacationing? He still hung in there. His swing looked light years better there than it has here. The point of bringing up Hero was that you could see enough in that game where some minor tweaks and he'd be able to contend with anyone. So far this week, its just been ugly.

It has been weird. He has been lining up very open almost every shot. I don't get it.

The guy on PGA tour live has no idea they're on a par 5 I guess...
Tiger's swing looked really solid at the hero, and looks terrible here. I think that would at least give some hope he'll eventually compete and this tourney is just nerves.
