I’m gonna try this at Tropicana but at the axe throwing booth.

I’ve always wanted to make the Lumberjack World Games.

55. Then I’d have to ice down my shoulder, call in sick to work for shoulder soreness, I’d probably pull my oblique, and might even tweak my back but hey $100,000

What's the guy's story? Was this guy NOT trying to be found before?
I've always been under the impression that baseball is the best sport at not missing talent (letting one fall through the cracks).

This guy's fairytale journey took another step in amazing fashion...

Nathan Patterson struck out the side in his Rookie debut. (USA Today)

Patterson, the right-hander who drew notice after throwing 96 mph at a speed-pitch radar booth at a Colorado Rockies game this year, made his professional debut in the Oakland A's organization Thursday in the Rookie-level Arizona League and struck out all three batters he faced.

He had already been in contact with the A's. They were scouting him in an adult league in metro Denver before he threw at the Rockies game.

He had posted film on flatground, which got the A's interested in the first place. That happened at least a few weeks before he signed with them.

It's a little disingenuous to say he got signed purely off the stadium gun, but it makes for an awesome story.
