Baseball fan Nathan Patterson lit up the speed-pitch radar booth at Coors Field a few weeks back while taking in a game with his brother.

The coolest thing about this is that it confirms those things are accurate.

I always practice my changeup on those things which is why it only shows me in the 60's. Next time I'll throw my heater so I get signed up too.

Someone's got to say it

He’s taking hop steps when he’s hitting 90-96

My grandma could hit 90 if she hop stepped

72 is not too bad for old timers. I’ve thrown more batting practice than the avg travel ball dad, and that’s the best I could do

Barry Manuel used to throw to the kids to get them game ready. It was fun to see him let loose on occasion. LOL

I tried to throw the heat last year at the local fair. I thought I was going to lose my arm. Getting old sucks.

Last summer I hit 83 in the booth.

I had to call in sick to work Monday from arm soreness.

likely you are joking, but if not...you don't think the team had him throwing from a mound before offering a contract?

When I play catch with a football with my cousins and nephews I get that same feeling when I try to bomb the ball. Feels like I’m going to throw my shoulder out.

We had one of those things at work on MLB opening day. Highest velo won a gift card. The guy that won pitched at LSU and in independent ball within the last decade, so us schmoes didn't have a shot. I think he hit 87.
