We suck and Dabo only has his high horse to blame.
He wont change now, he will ride it to the bottom of the ocean. Honestly, I dont think it matters who the coach is. Clemson is a small school in a small state with another major team. Simply not enough funds to compete.
Oh well, I witnessed 2 NCs and some fun times.

This is what bites about what college football has turned into. I thought it was cool seeing Clemson go up against those other blue blood programs to be in the mix. Sure, the big programs were still buying players before NIL era, but now you have the open auction combined with a no-sit transfer factor.

Techs defense was very impressive. Kind of performance that will get their DC a P5 DC look in the next cycle.

Yep. And they may not have the treasure chest to compete with the big big dogs but a coach adapted to this era with their resources could still put a better product on the field than what they have.
He just wants to collect his check, lord over the program he built, and be able to say he did it the classy way until his buyout is enough to swallow for them to end the era, which may be this season at this rate if it doesn’t get any better
If his old assistant Tony Elliot or Vernables ends up in the playoffs or on the fringe of it, that will heat up that noise. Probably can’t get BV but Elliot would definitely listen

What are you talking about?
Indiana just won the national title. Western Michigan should have beat Michigan. Ok State beat Oregon. UMass beat Rutgers.
If anything, there is more parity than ever.

Coaches can’t count on building programs, especially if they don’t have a $30 Million + annual NIL budget.
Your QB has a great season, he’s gone the next to a hire bidder.

Again you won’t compete with the big boys but you can reload with good scouting and development.
Arizona state has similar constraints and instead of whining about it, they find the next crew of players that fit their system and budget. Can still have a solid program and luck out on a playoff run with a good NIL/scouting/coaching structure.
The programs struggling are the ones that spend more time crying that the system has changed rather than change with it

I think he saw the handwriting on the wall a few years ago and didn’t like it. He tried to do it “his way” for a few years and has run them off a cliff in doing so. Like Saban, he’s probably a bit burned out and doesn’t mind going away. His buyout has him set up for a very good life. Unlike Saban, I think he will stay far away from the analyst/broadcast game.
