In other HAAS news Grosjean’s car is being reverted back to Australia spec as they try and figure out the issues with their car

I think Williams dodged a huge bullet too. Even in the offseason Rich was going with Williams until last minute changing to Haas. Williams probably had enough sense to see through the BS that Haas couldnt.

Maybe but from what I read, Rich essentially left Williams standing at the alter.

In any case, it may not be dead yet.
quote:

Sources have told Motorsport.com that the tweet was either written by or authorized by CEO William Storey without the knowledge of Rich's investors after an apparent difference of opinion.

Storey sounds like a loose cannon.

quote:

The shareholders are keen to protect their investment in the brand, and that includes saving the relationship with Haas. One source told Motorsport.com: "The deal is not terminated and William has no authority to do so. The investors are trying to clear up the PR mess, but it's business as usual."

Haas is going to run the Rich livery this weekend at Silverstone.

Also, good news about Lando. Looking forward to some Norris/Verstappen/Leclerc battles in the future.

I wonder if they ever stopped to consider that the problem with Grojean's car might be Grojean?

More statements from Rich Energy:
quote:

"We wholeheartedly believe in the Haas F1 Team, its performance, and the organisation as a whole and we are fully committed to the current sponsorship agreement in place. We also completely believe in the product of Formula 1 and the platform it offers our brand," the shareholders' statement read.

"Clearly the rogue actions of one individual have caused great embarrassment. We are in the process of legally removing the individual from all executive responsibilities. They may speak for themselves but their views are not those of the company."

"We wish to confirm our commitment to the Haas F1 Team, Formula 1 and to thank the Haas F1 Team for their support and patience whilst this matter is dealt with internally," the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, Storey tweeted:

quote:

“The ludicrous statement by minority shareholders cosy with @redbull & @WhyteBikes is risible. Their attempted palace coup has failed. I control all of the assets of @rich_energy & have support of all key stakeholders”.

Mercedes back on top through FP1 and FP2 but Leclerc is pretty close to them as well. Lando splitting the two Red Bulls so far in 6th but Gasly has actually outpaced Verstappen in the first two rounds and sits 5th. He had the fastest time in FP1 as well.

Renault looking really slow again compared to the McLaren's, got to be pissing them off(actually the Renault's look slow compared to pretty much everyone so far).

More bad pub for Haas when Grosjean spun and put it into the wall exiting the pit lane in FP1. He had to run an entire outlap without a front wing to get back to the pits.

I'm sure it was the brakes or something.

Can somebody explain to me why Ferrari want to start on soft tires? That strategy screwed them in Austria and here they go again.

They are dumb

Or

They know they can’t beat Mercedes straight up on the same strategy so they try something different and cross their fingers that the stars will align to work out

Its amazing verstappen can wreck everyone all the time, yet now that leclerc is driving like him its all cheeky and late and whatever stupid British word they have to describe dirty racing without saying dirty.

Ya, I think vettel just took out all his frustration.

Mercedes should just quit. They havent even shown them on tv in like 20 minutes.

Yeah Vettel did that shite. He's slid back to tier 2 right before our eyes this season. He can't even get it up for qualifying.

It's frustration. The Mercedes are just too good this year.

Saw a bunch of rumors this week about Vettel possibly retiring at the end of the year but his contract is to 2020.

VER has certainly made the last two races a ton more fun to watch, sucks for him.

He would be a relatively distant 5th in the standings without Ferrari constantly fricking over leclerc in favor of him in the beginning of the season, right?

This really sucked for Bottas. I wanted to see him try and beat Hamilton on his home track. That safety car completely took Bottas out of the race.

80 wins for Lewis and suddenly that record of 91 doesn't look so far out of reach anymore.

Haas sponsor Rich Energy seems to be taking it well
