Exactly. I was on the Verstappen bandwagon when he first came up out of GP3. You can't deny he's a really talented driver but his bratty, entitled personality turned me off.

I'm in a tough situation. I've always disliked Verstappen, but I love the Red Bull / Honda pairing and I want them to challenge the top two teams this year. I'm still hoping Gasly can step it up, but it looks like I'll have to root for Verstappen to win some races this year.

I'm hoping the Honda engine performs well too. I think that McLaren gave up on them too early. But from a political standpoint, maybe they had to.

Huge Lando fan.

I had seen F1 races before but I didn't really get into until what happened to be Lewis's rookie season so I jumped on his bandwagon early.

Love what Lando is showing thus far and I'm all in on him being part of the next generation of top line drivers.

I would love to watch Lando v George Russell battles for the next 15 years.

Right now I couldn't choose between the two as to who I would follow.

It's race week! The F1 circus is headed to Shanghai, China, where the commies decided to use an ultra-decadent F1 event to boost their international prestige. Yes, it makes no sense, but ya gotta admit, they have mastered the bizarro art of combining capitalism with commie dictatorship, thus ensuring that they won't meet the same fate as the Soviet Union.

Here's the Shanghai International Circuit on Google Maps. You can see it's in the middle of this city of 26 million capitalists trying to keep their social credit score high. All I have to say about that is frick you, you commie dictator scum. I'm glad the closest I get to witnessing this shite show is watching an episode of Black Mirror.

Trivia time!

Did you know that a company in Baton Rouge is a technology supplier to F1 and IndyCar?

Mezzo Technologies makes high-efficiency microtube radiators and turbo intercoolers. Here's a video of a Mezzo intercooler that was pulled from a Ferrari F1 engine that was parted out when the Marussia/Manor F1 team folded:

I hope not. The Sochi track is terrible.

You think they could get my Jeep up a couple hundred horsepower?

FP1 is about to start if anyone is interested.

Toto seems to think that Ferrari's straight line speed makes them the favorite.

Seems like the weather is going to be ok this weekend.

Ted Kravitz is back. I felt like something has been missing without him. Don't know how everyone else feels about him though.

FP1

Vettel 1:33.911
Hamilton +0.207
Leclerc +0.256
Verstappen +0.423
Bottas +0.742
Ricciardo +1.328
Gasly +1.517

I'm surprised and glad to see Red Bull in the mix. I think Ferrari should be favored this weekend.

The race starts:
Saturday 11:00 pm for west coasters
Sunday 1:00 am for you suckers

I guess we'll get a better idea of where things stand after FP2 but a .2 gap on a harder compound tire looks pretty strong for Ferrari.

Ferrari achieve their best when foreigners are running things (e.g., Jean Todt / Ross Brawn). They seem dysfunctional when an Italian is in charge.

I don't know if he just having a really hard time adjusting to the car or if it is the car. Hulk isn't exactly a terrible driver either.

Could be fuel load or setup as well.

Not for me. It starts whenever I want it to start.

He says he's been trying too hard to chase the perfect setup. Trying to get "too cute".
