Posts don't matter in the Belmont. It's a 1 1/2 with 2 sweeping turns. The race is a jockeys race, so that throws out a few

I wouldn't give a horse to Pletcher if a gun was put to my head. Todd learned from the ultimate crippling trainer, DWL, aka, Doc Kevorkian. Asmussen will win some races with him. Winstar finally woke up and smelled the coffee. Remember Super Saver was ran into the ground by Pletcher too.

Gettysburg's whole purpose IS to be a pacesetter 
it's why they moved him to asmussen.

pletcher actually has a half arse decent record in the belmont of all races. he won it with rags, he showed up at least with dunkirk who many had written off. this is his home track.
early speed is the sneaky profit play in the belmont horses get tired and can't catch up, horses on the front get brave
Assusmssen is no better than Pletcher when he doesn't have his steroids. At least pletcher actually has a pretty decent niche with 2YO's and with fillies. he's a very good filly traniner. Steve Just juices all his horses.

there is 2 horses who could go to lead, and pletcher has both.
they could go around the track together and finish 1-2

You don't think winstar took Gettysburg away from Pletcher and handed him over to asmussen to make sure he has the lead and sets up half a chance for creator?
IF I bet this race, I'm still going with someone on or near the lead. I think he'll just make sure pletcher's pair don't get to walk up there.
May help set it up for either of them too, if they let him go alone and he doesn't gun it

Dude, really? Pletcher is the Grim Reaper of horses past 3. Pletcher juices up just as much as the next guy, except NYRA protects him. I know first hand that he juiced up Life at Ten in the 60 Sails at Hawthorne. The late Michael Baze even knew she was on the juice, and he rode her. The reason why she scratched in the BC because she was off the stuff & had "withdrawals". Horse was never the same after that, and Pletcher embarrassed her every race.

Gun Runner is Asmussen's big horse. Ran an excellent Kentucky derby. Will probably go Haskell, Travers, one of those fall Belmont stakes then Breeders' Cup with him. Maybe just two of those before the Breeders' Cup. But likely the Haskell as Asmussen loves the Haskell

also, if i was owner, i would hope that cheater Assmusen would change the horses running style and teach him to relax 4-5 lengths off the pace. He's not a good front runner, and definitely looks like a horse who needs to relax.

The same owner as creator, which is why they entered him as a rabbit (winstar also has exaggerator for stud duty, so it helps that it sets things up for him too).That is his whole purpose here. They don't want him to relax.
Hope it doesn't ruin the poor horse. Rabbits don't seem to work out much over here. I remember Stephanie's kitten's pacesetter beat her. I think twice!
