I heard the announcers before one of the games making the exact same argument some here are making. People will still bitch. You are sheep.

I'm all for making it 8 teams. More football.

There is no way the current system will represent the status quo. The move to 6 or more likely 8 teams will occur in a few years. Too much money and interest to negate the move. All five power conference champs will be represented to preserve the integrity of the championship game and three at large bids. This will present a compromise for the occasional off day and not dilute the quality of teams with a legitimate claim to take part in the party.

We are already seeing teams get CRUSHED in a 4 team playoff. You think 8 is going to be better?

8 wouldn't ruin a thing.
the beauty of the CFB regular season is that basically national championship type teams CAN'T LOSE. If you do you better thank your lucky stars you still have a chance to play for a championship, and you might not.

No. Why let more average teams in. You have one elite team this year

We need to protect the regular season.

This argument can literally not be used this year. Ohio State this year and Alabama in 2011 spit on the regular season.

8, no. If expanding, then go to 6 with top 2 seeds getting byes. This will allow all power 5 champs getting in with 1 at-large bid. I feel going to 8 will allow teams with 3 losses in and this should be case.

I'll grant you OSU.

I'll also point out that is the product of how the current system is set up, with basically a selected group locked up to decide who is in.

Alabama/LSU still works out.

The BCS's stated goal was to place to two teams with the best body of work and make them play. Not look for de facto playoff games that may occur in the regular season.

As much as it sucked, Alabama's resume that year trumped every other team's.
