thomas was just one of several top guys on his team.

iverson had no all stars. no all d. no leader of any category. watch finals vs lakers. see ty lue holding iverson wrist.

The only argument that I could see for Reggie is that he was a 3-point specialist in a time where 3-point specialists werent really a thing.

I tend to think name matters to this list (and really most lists like it). Reggie was famous for a few dramatic endings at MSG while Ray's best years were in Milwaukee and Seattle.

I mean, I seriously disagree with Iverson over Kidd, but it's sort of the same principle. Iverson was just much more famous and stood out more, even if he wasn't as good a player, IMO.

Walt "Clyde" Frazier's always underrated when it comes to the great players of all-time, legendary offensive AND defensive player for a team that won MULTIPLE championships, one of the iconic players ever for the KNICKS in NEW YORK and these jokers placed him BEHIND Ewing, FREAKING Harden, and the Freak, this is a complete joke

quote:

31. Isaih Thomas

30. Steve Nash

Totally false, Nash can't D up and Zeke was an elite two-way little guy plus he was the alpha on two title teams

I actually kinda think Robinson's overrated historically, dude never even advanced nor won the title until Duncan joined the team and always underperformed in the high stakes until then, he always had the hype and skill just not the will

So many bones to pick with this list, would take all night, I actually think Dr. J should be a top 10 player, dude's probably among the most influential athletes in the history of sports, after Baylor he converted the game to a game of art and entertainment along with the Pistol and commercialized the game to ultimately facilitate the immense popularity it gained in the decades thereafter, dude embodied CLASS

kawhi is Definitely too high.

Can’t play a whole season. His two finals MVPs were some of weakest ever.

Averages 2 assists, yes 2.

Raptors had better record without him last year.

Spurs D was better when he was off the court than on the year before that.

Top 10 is fine. Feels like a lot of recency bias in the rest of the list.

10. Shaq

Shaq is too low. Other than maybe Wilt, there has never been a player that opposing defenses had to game plan more than Shaq, both with personnel decisions and on the court strategy.

A huge factor in the Heat winning the title with him was because he was still demanding double teams. I thought the Heat were the best team in the league the year before but they had injuries to Shaq and Wade late in the season and lost to the Pistons in 7.

Coach Mike Malone disagrees he chooses someone else as most difficult to game plan for.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone laughed off the idea that he might come up with “a new wrinkle” to defend Rockets guard James Harden. Beyond the impossibility of that, Malone said coming up with a defensive game plan for the league’s top scorer is the most difficult of his tenure in the NBA. “Yeah, a new wrinkle,” Malone said. “I think he’s seen every single conceivable defensive coverage and he demands that kind of attention. He’s a great player. I’ve been in the league 19 years and no disrespect to all the other great players in those 19 years but he’s I think the toughest guy to prepare for.

I don’t have a problem with the 10 but I would definitely reshuffle them around a bit. Russell above Magic and Bird is silly to me imo

Bill Russell too high, but otherwise as good as you can reasonably expect.

Duncan over Kobe is legit, but unexpected.

ETA - Kobe over Shaq is understandable, but I disagree with it from a pure basketball stance. Shaq's peak is insane.

Where is Bob Pettit ranked?

No offense to Pete, but after Shaq, he’s probably the best LSU player to play in the NBA based on just their NBA career.

He was Top 50 when the NBA celebrated their 50th anniversary and he’s light years better than garbage like Rodman and some others you have listed here.

The bulls guys are getting huge bumps for this documentary. Well not mike, he is the clear GOAT. But I have notice people overrating then heck out of Pippen, Grant, and Rodman lately. A lot of this is an attempt to prop up lebron.

Yeah I mean they had to give it to somebody but boy, those numbers are not great looking back at it. 17/6/2 with 1 steal and 1 block per game

Iirc, it was due to his defense on Lebron, who went 28/7/4/2 57% field goals and 51% from 3

Yea I like Kawhi , but he has literally only had 4 good years in his career so far. Sure give him credit for his 2 finals MVPs, but I'm still not 100% convinced that alone deserves to put him so high on the list.

His first ring he hadnt even come into his own yet. That wasnt even his team yet. He was mainly a good complimentary piece. That Spurs squad was a determined team out for revenge who knew, due to age, that was likely their "Last Dance". He won that MVP primarily for his ability to D up Lebron. It also helps that the Heat phoned it in by game 3 and they barely tried anymore.

He was really solid in last year's finals, and that game winner over Philly will probably always get played in the NBA highlight reel, But I dont know anyone who would argue that the Raptors still win that series if GS was fully healthy.

I don’t know what’s worse in this thread:

The deliberately terrible clickbait list or Piñata making up pro Harden quotes that never happened yet again.
