It's on the Zach Lowe postgame mini pod. All saying that Kerr playing KD 12 of the first 14 minutes is a huge reason why he got hurt. Solid point IMO.

If this was a known Achilles injury, many people should be fired.

He got hurt because he was never fully healed. GSW wouldn't say it, but that first injury was a torn calf which at the least would have been a 6 week recovery time period. KD should have never been playing I'm the first place. But since he was playing, he should have just been operating as a decoy and basically a glorified spot up shooter.

Where Kerr deserves a ton of blame is having KD become a playmaker and try to run the offense. You can not call plays for him to bring the ball up the court. Kerr should have done a better job of putting him in positions where it would mitigate the stress on the right leg

Of course the coach plays a major role. KD very likely got hurt bc he was playing 45 minute a night vs Houston. Kevin’s body had likely never been through that. it was a measured risk to play him that many minutes. One they had to take Bc of the opponent. the best team they have played since Kerr has been there, according to Kerr himself.

This is not a Houston thread. Your team sucked this year. Stop making this about Houston.

he doesn’t get hurt if they playing the pelicans or nuggets or whoever Bc he is playing his regular minutes. Kerr knew that dog would not hunt if they wanted to get past CC. Kerr does deserve blame of course some of it is in him.

You keep saying clutch city. Houston basketball is the opposite of clutch. Just stop.

The initial injury was that of the Calf. As a result of the calf not being fully healed, secondary injuries to nearby structures become more likely to be injured. In this case, the nearest is the Achilles

If they needed Durant to play 45 minutes so badly how did they beat houston in less than 7 games without him?

Small sample size. Iggy hit 5 threes when he had never made five threes in a game probably ever. It was the ultimate fluke.

GOAT started their death lineup v CC. And Kerr said himself that Houston was the very best team they faced since he had been there. And they play Kevin 45 a nite.

That tells us all we need to know right there. Look at the lengths GOAT went to, to win, that series. They never start the death lineup. And they never play Kevin 45 mpg. They KNEW they had to do both, to get past hardwn and CC. It was the ultimate sign of respect.
