And I'm just curious how you decide arbitrarily what the voice of black people is.

Just because it is a loud voice does not mean it is the true voice.

And to the other guy, I think rape was implied because of the lack of acceptance of interracial dating. Most people would rather say a black man raped their daughter instead of admiring she wanted it. Just an idea

Well she did say that she liked him and wanted to keep seeing her after that, so I'm not willing to say that he definitely raped her at that time.

But her account appears to suggest that at the least he was more aggressive than she was comfortable with at that time. That's still enough of a red flag for her to not want to see him again.

Because when someone needs a voice...they hire those shitty people. I just listen, the people in need of a voice are the ones choosing who the voice is.

You act as if poor people cannot be used as pawns. These predators prey on victims and you know it.

I don't know how that changes the fact that they are still the voice that reaches the most ears. You're right, though.

Who would you consider some of the better representatives out there? And what do you think about "community organizers?" I honestly don't know what the heck they are. And they creep me the frick out.

I'm going to get into my Christian beliefs if I explore this further, heads up. In my humble opinion, we need Jesus.

could blame the news outlets that turn to Sharpton every time something happens. He may have started out as a voice of the black community, but I'm not sure they even take him seriously now.

O.J. was such an Uncle Tom.

He wasn't Jim Brown.

OJ wanted to be rich and he wanted to be famous and loved. And in that time in America...you had to act a certain way and pretend to be white. He did it and he was the first black athlete to be a mainstream America endorser of products.

But you see interviews of OJ with his friends from Oakland and even after he was famous, OJ was so different from what the media portrayed.

There's no denying you couldn't be "real" and make a living endorsing back then. No white person is going to buy that stuff.

So he felt like he had to be white-like (which was common for most black athletes) even during the turmoil of the 60's and 70's...even white Grandma, go OJ, Go in the commercials...was telling white America, it's okay, he's one of us.

It's funny how when the jurors went to OJ's house during the trial, OJ's friends took pictures down of all his real friends and put up pictures of black people.

But it's true, once OJ escaped Oakland, it was mostly white rich society after USC. He was no social rights advocate.

He wanted to be treated like any great white star.

I know that many people view the world that way, but there is a critical flaw in that reasoning, which is foundational in the different worlds of blacks and whites.

Most whites do not think of themselves as "white people", only as "people". Most, even in the 1970's, were more than ready to relate to black people as simply, "people" rather than as "black people".

Like most black people who are fully functional in American society, O.J. knew how to act differently around whites and blacks as the need arose. But I think that the easiest explanation for O.J. And others like him is that they want to be treated as a person, not as a "black person", to the extent that that label carries some baggage, some victim status, some compromised other-than-fully-normal status. I think that it's black folks who are more likely to try to "knock other black folks down" and help them remember "where they came from". What fully actualized human wants that kind of baggage?

I wonder if this doc will touch on the kids and if they have any type of relationship with OJ now. You rarely if ever hear about them.

They're in part 4. Yeah. Wow. There are two especially bad ones that show the basically severed heads of both victims.

And his agent in part 5 told a story about how OJ admitted he killed Nicole while high one night at his house.

O.J. just wanted to be treated "as a person, not a black person": O.J. to the cop in the police car as they pulled out of his home in Brentwood: "why are they so many N......" in Brentwood?" The over whelming number of pictures in his home were of white celebs/friends. Of course, when the jury was allowed to tour the home, all those were gone & replaced by pictures of blacks even one of his attys said he probably never saw before. Quit making excuses for him.

Don't know if anybody else noticed, but the weird looking "Zoey Tur" interviewed in the Rodney King segment used to be Los Angeles TV news helicopter pilot Bob Tur. He "transitioned" a few years ago. He/she is also the father/mother of NBC news reporter Katie Tur, who covers the Trump campigh.

bullshite. There is a 0% chance OJ becomes as big as he became if he was caught up in the civil rights movement. Of if he did advertisements for blacks. White America ate OJ up because of how relatable he was to them. They got to look at him and see that in a black man and it made white America feel good inside. There is absolutely no chance that happens if he doesn't embrace white society. The hertz people said that exact thing.

What do you mean? He didn't speak out for the black person like other black athletes did. He constantly surrounded himself with other white people in the media. As many others have said, he had very few photos of him with black people in his house. It's not a bad thing. Theres nothing wrong with it. It just is what it is
