Those swap picks have the ability to be good in the future. But let’s be real.

What’s more likely.

The pelicans having a higher draft pick in 5-7 years or the Lakers?

Zion and who else?

You think Zion and Ingram about to run the west?

Is there some book available that explains contracts/trades/CBA in the NBA? I feel like there's a new wrinkle every year.

You just had AD in his prime and you ended up with the #1 pick in the draft

Zion is no guarantee to be a top 5 player in the league where as AD was.

Who is trying to convince themselves now?

If you Google NBA CBA, you will find the NBA has a really good faq site on it that answers a lot of questions

I agree with this... The Pels will do the same around Zion as they did with AD... There is ZERO WAY Zion becomes AD... Its not even possible...…………...

He may end up getting hurt less, but it is not necessarily because he’s with a team who can contend.

It will be bc He will be playing with lebron, training with lebron, etc. so he will he held to a higher standard by his daddy lebron. and he will he in the best shape of his career.

A la Gordon in Houston. a lot of these guys think they are working hard and doing eveything that they can to stay in shape, then when they are around your lebrons and hardens everyday they see that they really weren’t. and that these guys out work them at a level they didn’t even know was possible.

The old front office tried to buy their way to a team built around AD and failed. They should have built organically. This deal allows then to do that

As much as I loved AD for the last 7 years, his inability to stay healthy or be an alpha dog kept him from being top 5. He was top ten even with those warts.

We get it. You read every single post through a lens of how to incorporate James Harden in some fashion. It’s old.

Trial and error doesn’t mean shite to you. A new front office, whose start to their job was to rape the lakers. We got the best possible trade out of a one year contract.
Yup same ol pels. Not to mention, demps did the exact opposite of this to build around AD.
He traded all of our draft picks for holiday and Omar.

Lol

2nd round picks are pretty much worthless. You may find a guy like Hart. Bottom rotation guy.

Same for picks in the 20s. You may get a rotation guy.

It’s like you guys can’t even remember your own drafts.

Recent 2nd:

Tony Carr. Dwayne Bacon. Edmund Sumner. Michaneau. Diamond Stone. Branden Dawson.

Late firsts: Darren Collison. Darrell Arthur.

Teens: Aldrich. Julian Wright. Hilton Armstrong. Cedric Simmons. JR. David West.

Top ten: Nerlens. CP3. Hield. AD. Austin Rivers.

That ain’t a ringing endorsement for assets.
