So first they said there was an inadvertent whistle so we will be replaying the down
Then they reviewed it, and said that it was a backwards pass that was recovered after the inadvertent whistle
So why does the fact that it was a fumble negate the fact that it was an inadvertent whistle if that’s truly why they were replaying the down?

#11 for Ole Miss was going to pick the ball up and stopped because the ref right by him blew the whistle and called it incomplete.
Then a player who was 10 yards away walks in and picks it up well after the whistle.
