not really.

Boston was not winning that game tonight. They were horrible.

You know the Celtics are playing poor offensive basketball when Rondo has to take 20 shots.

They've been hot and cold in the playoffs.

Will this be the time they get hot?

Apparently you skimmed over the first part of my post that said there were bad calls.

The refs had nothing to do with the C's missing wide open shots and FT's and getting outrebounded by 15

I am sure they are gassed right now. Pierce played 40 minutes tonight. They may feel rejuvenated once they get back to Boston, especially if they can just hit their free throws.

Bruh, the Celtics shot like a junior high girls team.

This looks like my exact quote from earlier in the thread. It doesn't change the fact that the terrible calls played a big part in the game.

Boston is shooting poorly because of Miami's D. All this talk about OKC and SAS but besides 1 game in the Pacers series Miami has been unreal on the defensive end.

the opinion, not fact.

Boston wasn't winning playing like they played, that was nly close to 14 points worth of an officiating difference.

They were missing wide open shots.

When this thread was started, I said that Boston's issue, in this game and series, would be shooting. They haven't been very hot at all throughout the entire playoffs.

I think you are blowing the officiating a little out of proportion. The game settled down after the first quarter. I agree that some of the calls were not ideal, but I highly doubt it had such a profound effect on Boston's execution (or lack thereof). Their were no flagrant fouls called in this game. The officiating was not that controversial.

Free Throws:

Heat: 23
Celtics: 21

Personal Fouls:

Heat: 21
Celtics: 19

Can we please get over whatever perceived biases we have. The refs did not cost the Celtics this game, even with the early Ts. (some deserved; others not.)

Eh, it was really their lack of rebounding and their poor execution at the free throw line is what really stuck out to me tonight.

Besides, Boston was not that horrible in shooting over the course of the playoffs.

Jturn -

You are forgetting the fact that the refs called FIVE techs on the Celtics (ALL of which were undeserved); and techs are huge momentum shifts in games and are impossible for a team to overcome

What, you don't think 5 technicals on Boston, while none were called on Miami, played a good part in the game? I don't know the exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure they Boston had a lot more fouls as a whole as well.

You're not reading what I'm typing. I've already stated that they played bad. During the 1st quarter, I stated that shooting would be an issue. It had/has been the entire playoffs. We missed wide open shots all game and made stupid mistakes that we don't normally make.

But with that, the calls from the refs still played a big part. I haven't seen a game officiated this bad in a long time.

Besides, not many expected Boston to go into Miami and win the first game anyways. Especially not with Pierce on a sprained MCL, Ray Allen with foot/ankle problems, and Bradley out with a separated shoulder. We're limping around as a whole this year.

Nothing new. Boston hasn't been a solid rebounding team this year and I don't expect them to be against the Heat.

Anyways, I'm out. Work in the morning is going to come too early.

See y'all in the next game thread.

Miami missed a ton of wide open threes and still won comfortably. If those start falling, like they eventually did against the Pacers, the Cs are in trouble.

I wouldn't count on them falling too consistently.

Won't matter though. It'll probably be 2-1 Miami going into Game 4 just like last year. Either way the Heat will win the series.
