Also, I've know surgeons that have had to perform surgery for 8 hours standing on their feet the whole time. Talk about stamina. I guess they are great athletes, too.

We need to throw in those people that do those 24 hour dance marathons, also.

Why don't you just change the thread title to "It bothers me that Tiger and Lance Armstrong are listed as the top two athletes of the decade."

good choice but as another poster said, tiger did more for his sport in the US than federer did for tennis. tiger will go down in history as one of the greatest athletes of all time. there has already been multiple sports writers that have already declared him the greatest. tiger was deserving.

good article by bob ryan about golf and tiger.

Federer already is, if he never steps on another tennis court in his life the GOAT. Tiger can't say that. This award isn't best US Athlete of the Decade, but sadly that's probably what kept Fed from winning it.

I don't have a problem with Tiger winning it. I think Federer is a better candidate, but Tiger isn't a sham.

STOP

While those are big guys shitting on their athleticism is absurd. Especially LTs.

Left Tackles are some of the most athletic guys on the field.

When you take into account the changes in the game Major are easily the best determinant for deciding the GoAT.

The only one who might be better is Laver, but that is based on a hypothetical world without WWII

In golf and tennis, greatness is meassured in majors. In tennis it's probably the best meassuring stick because every surface is so different. The fact that Fed has made 22 straight grand slam semis, while the next closest is 10 is insane

And shitting on Daly and Lefty's skills is absurd. My point is, those guys can be fat and stil excel at their position and sport. Same can be said for golfers. Daly is fat (actually recently he's lost 100 lbs or something) but his strength is part of what makes him great.

It's not chosen by sport, it is chosen by who dominated their sport, i don't think someone can pick someone from football, basketball, or baseball that truly dominated thier sports throughout the decade in the ways that tiger and armstrong have

Fed holds numerous records. He already holds the majors record, and I don't see him slowing down anytime soon. Tiger still has a ways to go, while Fed is only going to add to his record.
