Did he actually hire her? I remember him joking about doing that.
I don't follow Barstool, but it seems like they suffer the same problem that happens to anyone tapped into pop culture. They get old. You guys may remember that Bill Simmons was actually cool and hip at one point like 20 years ago talking about his trips to Vegas with childhood buddies and comparing it to Rounders/Swingers. I think Bill got bitter that Barstool somewhat replaced him. Dave is sort of becoming that sad old guy.

Barstool was peaking to be more "mainstream media" when Erika was running the company...
They were broadening their approach the the sports media market with hosting the Bowl Games, making the deal with Penn, etc.
When Erika stepped away and Penn deal reverted back that's when you could see a shift for sure.
Timing was also in line with the Chicago office opening. All the better NY talent pretty much followed to Chicago and it is moreso like a fantasy factory there. They have gotten a "grip" on what they are doing now in Chicago but still think it could be more.
NY they have that lease so the Barstool NY office isn't going anywhere. Most of NY is used for the people who do the non-content Barstool things.
Can Barstool "grow" anymore? Probably. Do they want to grow? I don't believe. I think everyone associated with Barstool understands where they are at with their lives as well as the company. That is why you see guys like Glenny Balls and Caleb Pressley leave...Bussin' leave... etc.
Great platform, and you can make the most of what you want to be while you are there...
I'll continue to consume, but understand also the purpose behind the content.

I just assumed this was because Portnoy/Big Cat got sick of Mintz promoting Hogs non-stop instead of Barstool content/activities, and Mintz overcorrected by just not acknowleding it, this year, since he seems to be on thin ice after legitimately pissing Big Cat off a few months ago.
I never even considered the angle that Hogs cut him off, but could make sense.

I would think because of the mockery it kinda became at Barstool. I doubt stoolies were running to donate and Dan/Dave's $20-$25k donation wasn't worth it

I like wonton don, Gruden, Jersey Jerry, KB, Nick and Big Cat. The rest for the most part are terrible. PFT used to be great but his act has worn thin. Oh and I like Max when he rages
