LINK

Matzek basically said "frick you, Bill Plaschke" in this interview without actually saying it.

Dude became an instant legend tonight.

92NLCS WALK OFF

Still my favorite memory as a Braves fan. I wasn’t even in HS yet. I was watching the game with my PawPaw who was a die hard Braves fan, which is where my own fandom comes from. Last night I was watching with my Brother, nephew, and my stepson. The memories made last night will last a lifetime. There’s just something more special to Baseball post season than any other sport.

Anyway LTFG Bravos!!

For the complete game? MLB highlights use radio calls on YouTube.

So will there be separate threads for the World Series games, or will there just be one shite show game thread for Astros and Braves fans to coexist?

I think I remember admins forcing the DAT to be the stickied board game thread two years ago when Houston lost to Washington.

Happiest I ever seen my dad in his life was when Grissom caught that last out in the 95 World Series.

Last night felt sooo good.

As a lifelong Braves fan, we dominated the NL
in the 90’s, but then fell short in the World Series year after year….

It was like, we found a way to lose over and over.or, it was some other teams year and they made the clutch plays.

Then, all of the sudden, we couldn’t get past the 1st round.

And now there’s this group…Freddie, Ozzie, Riley and Fried, Matzek and Smith and Minter…. And so on.

Deep runs in back to back years. This years NL Champs.

Feels good. Damn good!

World Series baby!!

This team is so young too. We have to do whatever it takes to keep some of these guys.
We are also in a decent position to beef up our pitching staff in The off season with all the outfield talent we accumulated over the season, we have some trading chips

Ozie, Acuna, Riley, Fried, Morton and several more will be around at least next year.

Yes, the core is young. Re-sign Freddie. Add a starter and an arm or 2 in the bullpen and this team can make deep runs in the playoffs for several years to come. We need a healthy Soroka too.

And for all the talk from the media about the Dodgers and their injuries…..

We can say that too. Injuries are a big reason why we hovered around .500 for most of the season. Hats off to AA for re-making this roster at the deadline.

I bashed the shite out of AA for not getting a reliever until that last minute Rodriguez deal. But the way he remade the OF will forever be legendary. Picked up the RBI leader and a big power bat in Duvall. Picked up 2 guys who had monster years a couple years ago but struggled. Braves helped turn Soler and Rosario around.

Soler with Duvall leads us to the playoffs. Pederson helps send us to the NLCS. Then Rosario turns in prime Barry Bonds to send us to the world series.

What a trade deadline. As much as I bashed AA, they stuck with this bullpen. Matzek has been amazing. Will Smith has done an incredible job. Jesse Chavez has done well. My only complaint is trotting out Jackson in high leverage situations.

We all agree on Jackson but here’s the deal -

We’re 1 arm short in the pen when our starter can’t go 6 innings.

Rodriguez was going to be that guy… or Martin. But we can’t depend on them either.

AA has done a great job. So has Snit.

Snit gets an unbelievable amount of criticism but here’s the deal on that — it’s a players game. He goes with the information he has in certain situations and it’s up to the guys to make the pitch, deliver the key hit, etc.

When players deliver, the manager looks good. When they don’t, everyone wants criticize the manager.

I wish everyone would coach some sport, any sport, for at least 2-3 seasons. Even in a rec league…. And see just how hard it is when you’re the one making the decisions.
