Y’all don’t math that well. Our pen is not deep at all. In fact, it’s quite shallow. We’ve got to get 27 outs. Jackson was gonna have to get a couple of them. Or try to at least. I’d much rather him try to in the 7th up 3 than a later, more high leverage situation. He came in. He sucked. shite happens. Doesn’t mean it was a bad decision.

And it makes more logical sense to keep the actual good pitchers going to get you to the 9th up 3 runs instead of bringing in a loser and giving up runs then going to the 9th tied or trailing

Matzek should have started that inning. I’m not ready to write off Jackson in the WS but in this particular game Jackson should not have pitched.

Jackson is not a good reliever. He had a good stretch, but underlying metrics basically tell you it was luck. Much longer track record of being average to below average his whole career.

shite does happen, but it was still very unwise to put him in to start the inning. JMO
