And yes, watching the Yankees kick the shite out of the Cubs, they are legit contenders for the WS. I could see a Yankees vs Nats series in October. The Nats are just sick...they have a better run differential then the Cubs last year at this point.

Their pitching would blow it in a seven game series. Plus the hitters need more playoff experiences outside of Gardner, Holiday and Jacoby

Are some of the young talent playing for the Yankees from the Cubs for the Chapman trade?
Posted on 5/9/17 at 4:28 pm to SuperSaiyanBlue
They're definitely in the mix in the AL. To me NYY Cleveland Boston and Houston are a cut above everyone else in the AL

Warren is in their pen but he's not really young talent. Not sure if Torres has a chance of getting brought up this year, don't think they need him right now

Warren is just 29...
Yankees have the talent especially if Bird and Sanchez start hitting....
Pineda and Severino can carry the pitching staff as they both have ace stuff. Tanaka and CC are great veteran leadership, and Montgomery has looked good early.
Key is going to be Judge and Headly, if those two keep playing as they are now then the team has a shot. Didi, Castro, Gardner, and Ellsbury are playing how they were expected to play. Although Ellsbury is finally living up to his contract.

Yes, just look at some of their wins they've come from 7 runs down against bmore they overcame that brutal 9th inning by Chapman Sunday they've won just about every way there is to win already this season and great teams do that. As far as pitching goes ppl arnt giving Tanaka the credit he deserves the dude is an ace and his numbers prove it. The only reason this guy doesn't already have a couple 20 win seasons is health but when he's out there he's always good. Severino and Peneda have top level stuff and C.C. Has finally Taylored his game to fit his declining velocity. Health and Girardi are the only things that can derail this team.

Do you think the Yankees are legit WS contenders? by JetsetNuggs

Hicks is hitting great right now and sir didi had a good offensive year last year. Weird 2 guys to comment on.
I very well could be wrong but give it time. Torres and Frazier will both be starters next year. That's my point.
Torres will probably end up at third to replace headley. I like sir didi and hope he plays for the yankees for awhile.

We'll have a better answer after the HOU@NYY series this weekend. I hope the stage isn't too big for the Stros... definitely the top 2 AL teams thus far.

If Fiers and Musgrove are on the mound for the Stros then it will be a bloodbath
Posted on 5/9/17 at 6:05 pm to SuperSaiyanBlue
Morton and Musgrove go tonight and tomorrow at home vs the Braves. That sets up Keuchel/McCullers (whose dad played for NYY)

I think it's stupid and hitting Castro in the cleanup spot is too. Dunno if Sanchez is still in the 2 hole is he? But girardis lineup is not nearly his only deficiency. Lol he has Castro 3rd and Ellsbury at cleanup tday lmfao and your questioning my criticism of Girardi's lineups lol. I remember when I first started watching baseball too.

No shot with Headley

Meh, he talked about a change in his approach. If he can stay at .270/.340/.420 then great

Headley has already regressed. Since April 19th, he's hitting .175.
And he's made a zillion errors so far this season.

And they STILL won't make the Playoffs......

Peeeeej has spoken....the Yankees win the whole damn thing.

Headley's usually a solid player but if he continues to slump can't we just move Torreyes to third now that DiDi is back? That's his natural position anyway.
