I can remember being younger and my
Dad would holler at me from the living room and I'm come flying in there to see Hank (pretty sure it was him) sing the intro song which ended with he helmets crashing into 9000 pieces
It really used to be a big deal, but it just isn't anymore... Probably a cumulative effect of football being on tv 5-6 days a week, the rule changes, etc, but it just isn't the same anymore

Honestly, is it that big of a difference? Does it matter who produces the show? The product is still shitty on the field for the most part. Don't let the production of the show ruin it for you

MNF used to be huge, especially for the halftime show. That was really the first time people could see the highlights from the games on Sunday.

I don't watch it much anymore, and then I always regret it in February when I realize football is 7 months away

20 years ago there were only like 2 games on tv per week

This really has nothing to do with the NFL, it's all due to the way we watch tv now and the amount of access we have

The novelty of football on a school night used to be awesome.

It was great until ESPN ruined it, kind of like the NFL has done with all the rules changes and the salary cap/free agency.

First MNF game I have watched this year.
I usually don't bother because it starts late for me and halftime is about 10pm. No need to even bother with it, especially because I'm usually tired from the weekend and need sleep on Mondays.
Watching tonight though because Cam, and got in from the west coast today so still feels early. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have watched one all year this year. So, no.

All those who said ESPN ruined it. Yes, to an extent they have but I think parity also ruined it. 1999 was a prime example, who expected the St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans to be the top teams that year? Okay maybe Tennessee got its act together but the Rams? No way! I think the final Monday Night game that season was the Atlanta Falcons and the San Francisco 49ers, both teams were Super Bowl runner up and a playoff team respectively the year before but both teams had 4 wins coming into the game. The problem is you can't flex a hot matchup to the next day, season ticket holders won't show up, especially those who work during the game on the west coast.
