There are a bunch of football games on pretty much every night of the week, MNF just isn't as special anymore.
And this.
MNF is no longer the premier NFL game of the week now that Sunday Night Football has top pick and can leverage flex scheduling to flex in and out of games if certain teams are bad or good. Plus, there are so many night games now with the advent of SNF and Thursday Night Football that prime time weeknight football is not the rarity it used to be.

Just like everything else on TV it was a bigger deal when there were only four channels.

If they had better matchups I would rather watch the Monday night game over Sunday night. Too much going on most weekends to have time to enjoy the Sunday games anymore.

Not at all....for me MNF became mediocre once ESPN got their hands on it. SNF on NBC is way, way better.

Haven't watched one all year. Last year, i watched them all.

It's worth watching, but not as much as it used to be.

I still feel like they have compelling match ups moreso than not. Tonight is not so much one of those compelling match ups, but I'm still a fan.

Just wish it would start at 7:30 EST, and not run 4 hours.

It would be if it still had Hank.

I watched the Chiefs play the Packers because I like watching the Packers, I have Eddie Lacy, and my opponent had Randall Cobb.
I can say without exaggeration that I watched less than 10 minutes of at least 6 of the other games.

when I was a kid, they use to have it on ABC with Al Michaels, Frank Gifford, and Dan Dierdorf. I think the game would start at 8pm and they usually had good matchups.
Gifford, Cosell, & Meredith were much better. Meredith would insult Howie and he didn't even realize it.

ESPN has ruined it as it has with other sports they have taken over. Monday night football is a joke nowadays. It's lost its luster like the super bowl has. 20 some years ago I would make it a point to watch a lot of nfl games, but not anymore. The league like it used to be.

When SNF was on cable and MNF was on ABC, the NFL made sure MNF got the big-money matchups.
When SNF moved to NBC and MNF moved to ESPN, SNF got the matchups MNF used to get. Every now and then ESPN will luck into a good matchup like Patriots/Saints in 2009, but was a happy accident. The Saints were a .500 team in 2007 and 2008. Nobody had any idea the Saints would be that good.
Here are some of the MNF matchups we have yet to look forward to this year:
Bears/Chargers
Texans/Bengals
Bills/Patriots
Ravens/Browns
Cowboys/Redskins (obligatory NFC EAST SHOWDOWN
)
Lions/Saints

The games suck. But it's football, so I watch. Not must see so much as not much else to see.

Put another way...
SNF 2015 matchups featuring two teams that made the playoffs in 2014: 9, including NFCCG and AFCCG rematches and Manning vs. Brady
MNF 2015 matchups featuring two teams that made the playoffs in 2014: 4, with one head-to-head between division winners.

I don't have cable, only rabbit ears. So no, I watch Gotham instead

quote:Yeah this seems to be the problem. The matchups are just random games I wouldn't watch with nothing else to do on a Sunday afternoon.

Can we talk about that Gif?
That should get a referee fired.
How far out of the play is that guy, and is this normal? I picture that guy deciding I am going to take a moment to pretend in Sid Luckman and just bomb one right here in the middle of a game.
