Do you prefer 2-3-2 or 2-2-1-1-1 for a series format?

I don’t dislike either but I think 22111 is superior.

Jump off a bridge you liberal lefty, lefty! 2-3-2. Team with the most wins get four at home. They deserved it.

2-3-2
There should be no other way and this really shouldn't be a discussion.

In basketball 22111, in baseball and hockey 232 is fine since home field isn’t that big of an advantage

2-2-1-1-1
2-3-2 rewards the lower seeded team too much
If they steal even one game on the road they have a ridiculous advantage
If home team wins first 2, road team can still feel confident about winning 3 in a row at home

I think the home team / higher seed should always have the edge. I would honestly be okay with the higher seed being able to totally set the home-away game split based on how they see fit (keeping it still 4-3) but if it has to be standardized I would prefer 2-2-1-1-1

Yea i don’t know when 2-3-2 became a thing. Is that only a baseball thing?
2-3-2 is horrible. If anything it favors the worst team. They only need to win 1 road game of the first two and then have the 3 straight they need at home to close out a series.
The 5th game should be played at the home stadium of the better team with home field advantage

Another thing wrong with basketball is the bracket playoff format
Reseed each round
Reseed each round

Home ice teams in the playoffs have won 55.4% in the NHL.
Granted the NBA is higher, but it definitely is an advantage.

4-3. Front load it for the higher seed. Then if the lower seed wins even a single game, assholes start puckerin.

2-3-2. Gives more consecutive nights to watch on TV. I love the three games in three nights
