Butt hurt? Not at all. Unless you think that about every person that has a perspective different from yours.

Yawn! I hope alabama gets beat by Clemson and I was happy to see Florida lose to Michigan. I wanted Ole Miss to lose because I hate Ole Miss.
No one thinks the SEC is headed for some drop-off if Alabama loses to Clemson and if the SEC had a losing bowl record. The SEC is one of the best conferences. It has nothing prove to by wining bowl games.
I have to say Alabama winning the NC makes it more difficult for LSU.
Finally the Civil War ended 150 years ago. The SEC beating the Big 10 or Pac 10 doesn't in no way shape or form validate the Lost Cause or make the South look better. When the South starts having higher rates of educational achievement and higher incomes and higher standard of living then you can yell SEC! SEC! all you want.
Southern Pride isn't about football and the SEC is in KY and MO which were union states anyways.

Of course it's one of and lately has been clearly the best. It's the insecure chest thumping of all things SEC that makes people around the country shake their heads and chuckle.
And you're right. People bringing up the Civil War are lowlifes. That's a dark period of our country for all of us.

But it does carry over and you know it. When the SEC is considered to be the best conference, it helps all teams in the conference in the rankings.
So? If Ohio State wins the B1G next year and has a loss, you think it will hurt them that Iowa and MSU got pound 11 months and 1 season earlier? Not in the least.

Because in the cases where there are teams with one or two losses and they are trying to figure out who should get in, being in a conference with a strong reputation could be the boost needed to put that team ahead of the other 1 or 2 loss teams in the rankings.
First of all this is a relic from the BCS, but it helped you THAT YEAR. Not how teams did the year before. So, I can at least understand rooting for Bama over Wisconsin to start the year, though it still doesn't matter nearly that much, to wi OM losing to Memphis and Arky losing to Toledo this year not hurting. Hell a year ago after week 2 SEC tards were gloating that the BiG would be out of the playoffs after a disastrous OOC week. OSU lost to VT, MSU to Oregon, Neb barely beat McNeese, PSU and someone else had bad losses. But as we know, OSU still had the playoff, so IT DIDN"T HURT THEM that other teams in the conference had bad losses. IT DID NOT hurt them that the B1G was 2-5 in bowls the year before.

LSU got to the national championship with 2 losses.
Everyone had 2 losses that year. Now did LSU get in because Florida won the NC in 2006, or because LSU beat #3 Va Tech 48-7 in 2007? LSU beat 5 ranked teams and 4 were from the SEC, but the VT win was HUGE. It was LSU's resume in 2007 that got us in, not what happened in 2006 bowls.

Alabama got to the national championship to play against LSU after they had already lost to them and didn't even make the conference championship game.
EXACTLY! and that was a disaster for LSU

I hate the stupid pro sec crap. Seriously this has to be one of the stupidest things.

Maybe because Ole Miss hates Alabama and are rivals and Alabama has owned Ole Miss in football for decades and that Alabama getting good recruits from Mississippi hurts Ole Miss. I can see a lot of reasons why Ole Miss fans want Alabama to lose. When you look at the structural advantages Alabama has one loss to Clemson will not hurt the SEC and not make Ole Miss look bad.

and to add to the 2007 point. Va Tech was #3, their only 2 losses were to LSU and BC who were both ranked in the top 10 and both on the road. Now because they lost to LSU so bad, there was no way they could be ahead of LSU in the BCS. But take that game off the schedule. LSU still has 2 losses and why? Because the SEC is deeper, but VT would only have had 1 loss and gone to the BCS CG. Think they would care the SEC was better than the ACC? Think anyone else would?

OK, maybe I can get it from an OM perspective. You can put up a we beat the eventual National Champs 2015 banner next to the 2003 SEC West Co-Champs banner

But riddle me this. I think most would agree the Pac 12 is the 2nd best conference over the last few seasons at least. So why didn't that help Stanford get in the playoff? Now if they had beaten NW or played NW State instead they probably go over OU with 1 loss but it had more to do with their record and not the conference or conference bowl record from the year before.

Down vote for the Pac12 comment.

The Pac 12 is behind both the Big 12 and 10, come on bro.
