Do NO Saints fans want Drew Brees back in 2021, or would they rather him retire?

I see speculation of him returning on the Twitterverse.

If he is healthy with better arm strength than last yr, yes if not no, lack of arm strength handcuffs the offense

I'm fine either way. If we could get someone like Watson or Wilson then I would be upset if he came back but due to our salary situation this year we could do worse at QB. (IF Brees is healthy)

If he actually has a torn labrum, I'd rather him retire.

I think it’s time for him to retire. I’d only take him back for league minimum. The arm strength hurts the team more than his other attributes help at this point.

Has he had surgery, and if not, was the torn rotator cuff confirmed?

I think most are ready for him to hang it up. It’s time.

That hit he took from Hicks in the playoffs was a defining moment for me watching Drew... 300 pounds of violence on top of a dozen cracked ribs that were barely healed.

He has absolutely nothing left to prove. He made more money than any NFL player ever, has a ring and a super bowl MVP, and is a top 10 QB to ever play the game.

He’s 42 and taking hits like that with a broadcasting deal on the horizon and his own spoiled arse fans starting to tire of him. There’s just no need to endure that anymore.

I'd rather him retire. I just don't think his body can hold up through an entire season anymore.

Depends on what would be more beneficial for the team. If he’s the same as this past season I’d rather him retire but I’d love for him to go out in front of a packed dome with yours truly in the audience.

Retire

Some people will say he struggled at times last year because he wasn’t healthy. Sure but that’s the thing. It’s unlikely he can stay healthy for a whole season anymore. His arm strength is also clearly in decline even before the injuries. Both injury and arm issues will likely only get worse with another year.

He’s still the greatest player in franchise history by a mile, but it’s time to hang it up.

I felt the same about PM18 after the 2015 season.

And since, I’ve had to endure Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch, Drew Lock, Brandon Allen, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco and a practice squad WR at QB and it made me really miss him.

Makes me kind of regret hoping he would ride off into the sunset and retire on top.

If not it’s probably time.

Can we trade him to Atlanta and clear his cap hit off the books? And then he can retire ...

He needs to retire.

But I disagree. Brees in the lineup handcuffs Sean P as a play caller, he goes completely retarded. His play selection is better with Teddy, Jameis and T. H.

I want him back only because there’s no guarantee that whoever we have next year will be better than him... people often want to push players/coaches out of the door before having a viable replacement lined up...

I’d rather a regressing drew than a jamesis or a matt darnold

Drew has earned the right to hang it up when HE’S ready. He owes us as fans nothing.

Retire

Hate to say it but his career is over. The Saints need to find a way forward at QB without Brees.
