no excuse for not having more marquee matchups. i don't know if espn can do anything about that but damn that was a letdown. something must be done about teams scheduling cupcakes moving forward

People bagged on the neutral site games, but they're good for TV and gave the fans something interesting for travel. I had a good time going to Jerryworld for Fla/Mich in 2017. But, I totally understand wanting a warmup game until week 2 or 3.

No, we don’t need more neutral site games. We need fewer.
We need established guidelines and published criteria for admission into the CFB and strength of record and strength of schedule need to be WAY up there.

Of course there is, it’s the CFP format
The sport has evolved so that only the 12 teams that make it in are considered to have a successful season, and every team worth a shite is thinking playoffs or bust
So don’t be surprised when those same teams schedule as best they can to maximize their record and chances of making that 12 team tourney
