We're not branding ourselves as The University of Louisiana. We're branding ourselves as "Louisiana" athletically .

That may be true but we do have those bushes at Cajun field that spell out UL so I wouldn't say the University never uses it.
But you're right, they mostly just say "Louisiana".

I think it's terrible that somebody could see 'UL' or 'Louisiana' and think that university is anything more than a commuter school...but that's pretty funny

I must have missed something. I thought ULL referred to themselves as "Louisiana"?

Not sure why the pissy response. Like I said, I fully understand and support the reasoning for labeling themselves "Louisiana" it just doesnt seem that there is any across the board moniker.
