Did I miss ULL getting permission to drop a L and ULM having to stick with ULM?

UL, ULM Picked As Preseason Favorites

Maybe if ULL keeps saying it people will think they are the University of Louisiana?

That's been their thought process from the beginning.

For a website filled with people that do not give a shite about Lafayette or ULL, there sure are a lot of threads about both.

You know, UCLA and Cal don't have these stupid arguments. Maybe that's because their fans aren't a bunch of idiots.

Baton Rouge Advocate posted the story a day before the Lafayette paper and used "University of Louisiana", so complain to them.

LINK

Funny how these threads are always started by people who supposedly "don't care about UL-Lafayette". This must be only the 10,000th one.

I actually don't have a problem with them putting "Louisiana" on their jerseys.

I have a problem with blatantly referring to yourself as UL and the other school who changed names with you at the same time ULM.

Me thinks that A) UCLA sounds awesome, and B) There isn't exactly negative emotion to "Los Angeles." In fact its a selling point.

The chance to live and go to school in Lafayette doesn't quite have the same draw I imagine.

All the schools that compete with ULL for recruits should care.

UCLA/CAL is a poor example.

There are a shite ton of UT at ...., UF at ...., UA at .... There is only one flagship institution in each of these states.

I care because, as a resident and native of Louisiana, I do not want anyone to think that that directional school in Lafayette represents the entire state.

Not this shite again. Seriously, how many worthless threads must be created on a subject that has been discussed to death?

But LSU does?

But anyway, I rarely say "UL" because I don't want people associating our amazing French/Acadian culture with cities like Monroe and Shreveport. I also want people to know EXACTLY what school I'm referring to when they ask me where I graduated.
