He was so huge and a reason people got into CBB in the late 80's...but that was 30 years ago. That's a long time for your shtick to wear thin. Amazing he's still on the air. I was hearing diaper-dandies in 1988.

His Schtick has long grown tired and he has become a parody of himself. But I at least used to respect him as a person, and thought he was a good guy.
That went out the window last year with his blatant and off the charts hypocrisy. If I have to watch one of his games from here on in it will always be with the volume off.

I love college basketball.
But I agree with that, he should have retired 10 or so years ago and gone out like a legend instead of becoming nothing but an annoying nuisance to the viewers.

He still acting like an arse over Will Wade, who had the audacity to outcheat John Calipari for a recruit. Vitale loves Calipari so he’s made it his mission to blast Wade at every turn.

Vitale just mad that it took a coach like Wade to figure out the good ole boy network.
How dare a young coach challenge the establishment and run his program exactly like the blue bloods have done for 30 years while controlling all of the college basketball industry and making the NCAA billions.
Yet the NCAA felt the need to take out Dale Brown to make a point - give me a break. Those teams were ten times as dirty than Brown ever was at LSU. At least Brown cared for his players well being before, during and after their careers ended.
