It's pretty fricking obvious at this point that at the very *least* the dude exaggerated a short-term, flimsy online 'relationship' and turned it into a 'love of my life' type thing (with a three year backstory to boot). Reasonable people can guess that the dude did so because the story bought attention to his play on the field and, like many athletes in many programs, he liked said attention. The Heisman votes were gravy...few people here actually think the GF myth began because he knew it would get Heisman votes. I think most think it started as a way to get attention. The story just kept getting bigger from there as ND kept winning games...and up until December, Te'O came across as rather willing to milk the cow he'd created.

I'd like to hear his answer on why he didn't visit her while she was in a coma in the hospital. He said himself that his voice made her respond when she was in a coma. I mean he flew back to Hawaii during that timeframe. 80% of flights from South Bend to HI have a layover in L.A. Why wouldn't he take a moment to stop by the hospital and help aid in her recovery?
